I'm very impressed with the overall improvement and growth in Houston area bands this year.  Congrats to Cy- Fair and Bridgeland on very deserving finals placements.

Also- Keller keeps doing its Keller thing haha. Seems pretty safe to pencil them in as a bottom half finalist in every late season contest for the next decade or two no matter how their season starts.

And it didn’t start well at all.  It would be interesting to see if we could white brand bands and just judge them on their programs —-

I have been avoiding talking on here this season- Keller REALLY likes to stress me out with their early season placements- but now I can say

GO BIG BLUEEEEE

They also stressed me a bit during the first half of the season. But after their area performance, I already knew they’d make state.

Cant wait to drive down tomorrow to watch finals :)

tw's music ordinals are kinda iffy. what happened? bad run? didn't watch anything but based on area vids id have them higher.

Personally thought they had a great run! I will admit, I think they lacked a decent amount of Dynamics and there weren’t any moments on the stream at least that got me all excited, so I’m guessing so. Im still surprised they were that low but we should hopefully see some improvement tomorrow, probably just individually stuff we couldn’t here

They were definitely stronger visually than they were musically. (I'm surprised they weren't outright first in ensemble visual. 1st in execution, but 10th in content, which is baffling to me coming from the BOA system.) Anyway, musically, they seemed a little fatigued compared to area videos, and they definitely didn't project the full, rich ensemble sound of groups like Marcus and Flower Mound, for example. Soloists had rough runs, too. But, their music ordinals are still quite a bit lower than I would have had them. Not sure what to make of it for BOA this week and next!

That's actually kinda crazy that Dripping got 17th and Wylie got 29th when they were basically equal at Waco with only .5 difference (and I heard Wylie had an amazing run too)

they had our brass 39th…

UIL has always been cooler on The Woodlands compared to BOA. I don't think they have ever medaled at state, which is crazy considering their success at SA and Nationals.
