Band2013 Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 What was interesting was that the first block seemed to be the hardest to gage. Cedar Ridge coming out on Top in my opinion. However, Rouse could be a finalist hard to tell. Quote
BlueCircle Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Westwood - I like the striking contrast between band and props. Cold and wintery. Front ensemble looks proportionally small. Fantastic opening hit. Great high brass technique and projection! The brass performance is really really really good. Who knew that Christmas music could be this powerful. Some impressive rifle work. Reminds me kindof of Round Rock 2016. I quite like these arrangements. WOW brass. I definitely see that in finals. BandFan95 1 Quote

TWHSParent Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 So, per the notes I made during the day (I actually did make a list), my finalists are, in order: Vandegrift, Claudia Taylor Johnson, Cedar Ridge, Vista Ridge, Leander, James Bowie, Hendrickson, Westwood, Rouse, and Cedar Park. The top 6 I have in finals (not in order) with 99% confidence, drops off rapidly from there. Round Rock, Lake Travis, New Braunfels, Cypress Woods, and Del Rio are close. Quote

They have a 10+ minute show out there and the entire backdrop collapsed because of the wind. Also because the show was 10 minutes long, it was very dirty. But this is a good time to be dirty. Quote
