Fantastic! Carroll, Coppell, and Wylie are all great, unexpected additions. Hoping we get a couple of the LISD schools, too -- both Leander and Lewisville.

Flower Mound is confirmed to be heading back to Grand Nats this year!!

They have to be one of the favorites for the eagle, especially coming off of their BOA SA win.

Completely depends on how their season goes but they’ve got a ton of momentum!! I do remember though they were seeded to at least medal in 2021 and then got 5th so we’ll see what happens but even top 3 would be amazing, though Nats next year is already insane, like might be the most competitive semis Ever

Yeah I’ve got 7 locks rn (assuming Marcus is coming which they should be)8 if Blue Springs pulls up and the  4 spots for a TON of other bands, this will probably the most competitive semis ever, only the best runs will do the job, and this applies more then ever this coming season

Flomo also won SA in 2015 and 2016, before dropping to 6th at SA and 5th at GN in 2017. Consistently holding the top spot in Texas is so difficult.

But Flomo taking home the eagle is one of my top wishes for marching band history. Listening to their video last year explaining their approach to design definitely gives me high hopes

Unfortunately some financial issues, and I do think they would have made it but I didn’t have them 100% in but I think they’re planning on going next season which will allow for them to place higher (most likely), which is never a bad thing.

They do usually have a pretty big group so I’m sure that definitely adds to the cost. I remember walking past them in the lot at area my junior year and just thinking “woah I thought we had a big band”

Obv still to early but I’d be shocked if Flomo was top 3 last year. Ik they just always have an “off” year after having an amazing season they year before nats but I truly believe they’ll finally be top 3 here. But still a solid list, would probably change some placements but this could def be the 12 in

I could def see flomo in the top 3 but i also cant see them beating carmel for some reason but hopefully they get get up there.

Carmel did lose their head director I believe, not that this will kill them, but it could, Maybe, have an impact on their season, but it could also help them a ton

This seems very reasonable. The most likely outcome for sure.

Vibes-based tiers, having not seen everyone.

Eagle contenders

- Avon (consistently pushing the envelope visually, and this year is no different from what I’ve heard)

- Carmel (I know nothing beyond the show title, but when’s the last time they finished outside of the top 3?)

- Broken Arrow (They are who they are, and changing design staff did nothing to slow them down. Probably the most well rounded band in all of BOA)

- Flower Mound (Year in year out they bring the most compelling designs to competition of any group. Haven’t seen it this season, but if they’re bringing peak FloMo to Indy, everyone else watch out)

Medal contenders

- The Woodlands (They are the epitome of consistency. GE being their strongest caption gives them an advantage, as well as having the only guard that can hang with those elite non-Texas squads)

- Marcus (They’ve climbed their way back into the upper echelon, music is again their calling card. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them take the music caption here.)

- Reagan (A bit of an enigma for me. They haven’t caught lightning in a bottle lately like they did with Secret World, but it’s still the same band. They’re a great design away from a very high finish)

-William Mason (They bring the visual package of a top three band, but can their playing match it?)

-Blue Springs (Same as Mason, both of them seem to have been on the doorstep of immortality for a few years now. Music is their Achilles heel, at least relative to their competition)

I feel like putting Carmel at 5th seems weird but it feels right to me. That 12th spot could honestly be anyone, but for me I think it’ll most likely be castle. But I’m always rooting for Team Texas.
