  1. Yes it was impressive really. Not 100% my thing but I admit that I couldn't look away!
  2. Center Grove was...interesting. How on earth did they do an entire show on a half circle tarp?
  3. I'll be glued to it all evening. We're running it through our big screen tv and stereo system so it's almost like being there.
  4. Oh I know. I've been lurking there for over a year.
  5. It's maddening. There are approximately 5 minutes between each band when they could play all the ads they wanted!
  6. Ohhhh, that makes me even more disappointed that I missed it! I will make every effort to watch it in finals tomorrow night.
  7. I'm so mad! I totally missed O'Fallon. Grrrr, I got distracted because INDY is on a break. Wanted to see my friend and O'Fallon colorguard! Oh well, maybe I will see them in finals or surely at Grand Nats on FLO.
  8. If I ever actually meet you at a BOA event, I'll show you my notebook that I carry with me to all BOA events. It's full of predictions, notes and results.
  9. Thanks! I was particularly nerdy this morning and made myself a list of which bands from each super regional that were MUST see's so I wouldn't miss anything. Fortunately, I remembered that we are on CST here in Texas and Indianapolis is on EST.
  10. Yes, that was definitely unexpected. I wish FloMarching had focused on her a little more. They really didn't show her very much and I found it fascinating and would have loved to have seen more. You are right about the flute--she was great. And that original music? Wow, it was fantastic!! I can see why Homestead regularly makes finals at GN.
  11. Well that was a first for me. An ice skater in a marching show?! It was a great production though from Homestead!
  12. Anyone else watching this on FloMarching? I was really impressed with the Beech Grove HS band from Indiana! Especially that sax soloist in the Chandelier ballad--whoa, someone check his birth certificate! But man, can he play.
  13. If I lived closer, I would TOTALLY be there. ENJOY! I'll be watching Carmel, Avon and Castle on the FLO tonight.
  14. Good luck! I remember being vastly impressed with one of the small bands last year at San Antonio. Seems like they were a class A band from Alabama?? Anyway, they were fantastic and everyone enjoyed their show. Hope to see you guys!
  15. Yes, I also heard late last week what Leander's timeslot is. I'm just anxious to see the entire schedule so I can decide how early to head down to San Antonio.
  16. Thank you. I couldn't find that info to save my life!!
  17. I truly can find next to no information regarding this competition on the internet. The website doesn't give much help either. Is there a schedule somewhere that I'm missing? I'm just curious as to what bands are going to be there.
  18. I wasn't trying to be snooty if it came across that way. It just seems in this day and age of "everybody gets a participation trophy" that UIL gives out 1's like it's candy. I always feel bad when I hear a 2 rating announced at UIL. But a 3? I've never even seen a band get a 3. It makes me sad, really.
  19. I've been refreshing the page every hour or so since you gave me the link yesterday. I think I may have a problem...
  20. It's all a grand Hornrank conspiracy to fire CTJ up and get them ready to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!! Or at least, San Antonio.
  21. In the 5 years I've been around in the high school band world, Cedar Park has only gone once which was last year. Unless they went in 2012 and I'm just not remembering...which is quite possible as my kid was only a Freshman then and I truly knew next to nothing about the world of BOA!!
  22. Ugh, how bad do you truly have to be as a band to get a 3 rating? Seems like you'd almost have to try real hard to be that bad! Am I wrong? Is it harder than it seems to get at least a 2?
  23. Cedar Park is still 5A so maybe they'll go on even years.
  24. Yes it was quite the wakeup call for Leander as well who was not only making their first trip to Grand Nats in nearly 20 years, but who also had just moved up to 6A. 2016 was an unforgettable journey for Leander in so many ways, but it was most definitely an exhausting one as well. I doubt Selaiden will take the kids back to GN during a state year again if he can help it!
