The 2026 Central Texas Regional will be held on a date TBD at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.

The 2026 Waco Regional will be held on a date TBD at Baylor University in Waco, TX.

That’s most likely the McAllen Regional.

There is no mention whatsoever of BOA Austin. Sad, but not surprising.

Evidently the “higher ups” at the Glenn HS band have suddenly decided that their guard can not have a winter guard season. No students or parents were consulted, nor was the guard director even made aware of their decision beforehand. They gave a fairly innocuous explanation (they thought their fall season was rough, it’s too expensive, blah, blah, blah), but the guard director had already paid the fees to register them in the 2026 competitions he wanted them to compete in. Evidently none of that matters and the poor kids are just out of luck. What really blows my mind is that Glenn HOSTS WGI AUSTIN! Like whhaaatttt? And the guard is expected to WORK it! I’m so confused and I feel TERRIBLE for the guard members at Glenn who have been denied an opportunity to perform this winter. I have heard a few stories that also have me quite concerned but I don’t think this is the place to share them. I just want these kiddos to have the winterguard experience they signed up for and PAID for. And deserve. I just realized this was the UIL State thread. There’s unfortunately no Eagle Experience for that!

I actually don’t recommend the Riverwalk area for staying because it’s outrageously expensive, you have to walk everywhere, the restaurants are mediocre and you have to valet park your vehicle. And you still have to walk over to the Alamodome (unless you want to pay $20 a day to park there as well). What I actually would recommend is doing the Eagle experience which comes with free Alamodome parking, and then staying at a hotel just a few miles away. I personally stay at a very nice Best Western on Roland Avenue and it is approximately 3 miles over to the Alamodome. Since I buy the Eagle experience pass, I don’t have to worry about paying to park my car at the Alamodome and can come and go with no extra fees. And since I am not staying downtown, I don’t have to valet park my car in a hotel lot. It’s quite a savings! I think I paid about $250 to stay two nights at that Best Western, and there are other hotels near the Alamodome as well. Also, you can skip eating on the Riverwalk and actually drive to some really nice restaurants. (If you get the Eagle experience, all of your meals during the competition days are catered).
