I feel like with Vandegrift performing first, a lot of amazing programs back to back in the top half, and Marcus having a performance time closer to the end we could see Marcus win their first 6A gold medal!

Marcus actually won Gold in 2006 … and 2008 … and 2010 … and  2012 … and 2014.

An achievement still incredible today.

It's probably been asked a hundred times but- will it be the same set of judges for finals? I'm curious how it'll affect finals results 😗 some of these are some crazy placements

For bigger events like state or a super regional, they typically get a different panel of judges for prelims and finals.

Really shocked at the placements for the AM bubble bands who had EXTREMELY good runs. I really thought Bell was going to be a lock after a run like that and hearing many of the afternoon groups, and was very surprised to see Wylie and Timber Creek so low! Hoping they fare better at BOA SA on Saturday.

Wylie won’t be there.  They are done for the year.  Surprised too since they essentially tied Dripping Spring Saturday in Waco to see them drop so much after a great run.

It’s also surprising that they placed so low seeing as how they tied and won the tie breaker with Prosper at area

You really can't compare UIL judging to BOA judging. It's really different. Dripping Springs has been a UIL powerhouse for UIL and has only recently made the change to be a more BOA focused band.
