    Don’t write this in stone and get TOO excited yet but Flower Mound has this on their band calendar.

    BOA started using a top half/bottom half split for finals back in 2016.

    In a year when several north Texas programs skipped the event, we still see 3 programs in finals and 2 more as class champions. Way to represent!

    Medals won by the Lewisville ISD big three bands in all of the 6A contests since 2014 and 5A from 2006-2012: 2023: 2 2022: 1 2021: 2 2020: 2 2018: 1 2016: 3 2014: 2 2012: 2 2010: 1 2008: 1 2006: 1 18 out of 33 possible medals. That is quite a run.

    Beautiful performance FloMo! I’d love to see them medal but it’s so tough. Today is the 8th anniversary of Surreal winning BOA SA (my son’s senior year ❤️). Hope that’s a good luck omen!

    6A didn’t exist until 2014 - their first 4 titles were 5A. The final one was 6A. So they always won the largest class. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

    Marcus actually won Gold in 2006 … and 2008 … and 2010 … and 2012 … and 2014. An achievement still incredible today.

    I need to correct this … Flower Mound is participating in the 2024 Macy’s parade, not this year’s.

    Still no publicly posted sked but I can share Flower Mound’s prelims slot is at 4:30 p.m.

    I’m sure a big reason Flower Mound is not attending is they’re participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC. Not going to be an inexpensive trip for sure.

    Frisco Wakeland has a new Assistant Band Director, who just came over after 6 years as an Associate Band Director at Flower Mound.

    Marcus went in 2009. 2013, 2017 and 2021. Flower Mound went in 2014, 2017 and 2021. Hebron went in 2015 and 2019. We will see if they stick to the 4-year rotation going forward.

    Don’t expect Flower Mound and Marcus to go again until 2025, unless we are in for a major surprise.

    Interesting stat: This is the first time Flower Mound has not taken 1st in Class 4A at the BOA DFW contest prelims since 2014.

    That’s only the first 3 movements for FloMo but guessing they’ll put the closer on the field for BOA DFW next week.

    Yes, Flower Mound is slated to compete as far as I (a Flower Mound alumni band parent) know.

    Was surprised to find out when they were just announced at San Antonio that the Guardians have relocated from Houston to Dallas/Fort Worth.
