balumni2023
I was watching Bell through NFHS, and despite the stream being a little lacking, I thought they had a really great run and I'm so proud of them as an alumni. Very likely in the finalist bubble. JazzRun
Rubisco
Yeah, I heard the tuning in the soloists at the beginning, too, but overall LD Bell was great. It's so nice to see them pushing their way back into the upper echelon! College Park sounded great, too. The music really draws you in, with that trumpet duet. Sorry, I'm very in and out of the stream at the moment.
J-Mike16
Could someone let me know how North Shore does tonight at 8:45pm when they perform? They are my dark horse to make Finals. TXguy512 and vacon3`

Popular Post Samuel Culper
There are so many great marching bands in Texas. By the end of Prelims we will have 23 sure-fire Finalists. 🤣 Tubalord11, celesta, gregorydf01 and 15 others 11

Tubalord11
What an incredible performance from That Wylie Band!! The Mello sustain in the opening hit was perfect!! Soloist were great all around, guard did very well, and the drill was very clean! Very big brass sound. Would love for them to make finals, would say it's defiantly a possibility! love this show so much, great job to TWB! Band4Life22
Wow Wylie! Coming out of an Area with three of the state's perennial powerhouses in Hebron, Flower Mound, and Flower Mound Marcus is no fluke! Great run today! I think it’s also easier to compare bands when they are closer together. More consistency in judging.

One of my roommates marched there and was wanting to know how they did, ya'll think they have a good shot at finals? Hoping the early performance time doesn't kill their scores. Loudest they have been. The mic really accentuated the soloists. Better dynamic balance than I’ve seen. Cleanest run they’ve had especially in that difficult closer Tubalord11

It also kind of sets a decently large gap between the band in 7th and the band in 8th. That probably doesn't happen all the time but more times than not you see that gap happen. But in the end, it does make deciding who is top 5 in the state way easier because they see those bands one after the other. While this is true- if you’re the top 5 in the state you should be undeniable. It shouldn’t matter when you perform. If you’re the best, you’re the best regardless of when you go on. I’m extremely excited to hear how they perform Solid performance from JBA! Drill was defiantly the highlight for me, very clean and represented the theme throughout! I think the music could have used a bit more cleaning individually, the ensemble moments were very good, I do wish the Festive Overture small ensemble was a bit stronger, woodwinds were very good though! Very entertaining show, great job JBA! DeadMascot

Parkwoodmom
Is the timing the same for this as it was in Region and Area?
gregorydf01
3 minutes ago, Parkwoodmom said: Is the timing the same for this as it was in Region and Area? Yes, 15 Min. total. 5 to get on the field and setup, 8 min. to perform (they can start early but can't go over. What is early dose not get judged) and 2 min to get off the field. Tubalord11
Great Job Pebble Hills! The narration throughout really helped bring the show together, with the husband/solider and wife coming together in the end. Guard is VERY talented! Very strong opening statement, soloist did great! Nice to see them back here at the state marching contest, great job Pebble Hills!
SleepySeal
Does anyone know if they sell tickets at the door for this event? I live in SA and want to go but haven’t bought a ticket. They seemed to stop selling online.
Origin
Coppell is the first band that I’ve gotten to see today, and they did not disappoint. Truly an impressive musical feat with all those time signatures. Definitely some iffy intonation in the ballad but I’m sure every group is dealing with that today.
