  1. All the schedules you keep asking for can be found on threads on this board: https://www.txbands.com/forums/forum/26-upcoming-contests-events-and-festivals/
  2. So, to clarify this post.... I was thinking this was the Area H thread when I posted that. As for State - I think an LISD sweep is entirely possible, but I think Wakeland and Highland Park will both push to break into the medals. Should be a really interesting Finals.
  3. It would be a shocker if it is anything other than those three.

  6. Only three State slots for Area H. 19 1's. Brutal.
  7. Region 29 finally posted their schedule for tomorrow: 6:05 - Holmes 6:20 - John Jay 6:35 - Warren 6:50 - Clark 7:05 - Marshall 7:20 - Brandeis 7:35 - Brennan 7:50 - Taft 8:05 - Harlan 8:20 - O'Connor 8:35 - Stevens
  8. I love that quartet, It is so fun. And crazy hard.
  9. And Vista had an admittedly bad run in Austin Finals this year. They knew it coming off the field. The Prelims run was better. That wasn't the case in '18 or '19. But, certainly, it's a hill to climb. S.A. competition is no joke.
  10. It is always a bit of a crapshoot with Texas bands making the trip up to Indy. Any band with hope of competing for the Eagle has a lot of built-in advantages to overcome compared to the bands from Indiana/Ohio, etc. But if we can keep sending a half dozen San Antonio Finals-worthy bands each year, we will have a shot each year. I think that's what it takes to have an even shot at Kevin making his home in the Lone Star State each offseason.
  11. In both '18 and '19 VR placed same or higher at San Antonio than they did at BOA Austin. I think this gets overlooked. Considering how absurdly deep San Antonio is, that speaks to serious adjustments and improvement.
  12. There seems to be a lot of conviction Texas only takes one of the top 3 spots. Hmmmm.....
  13. Just hoping we get twenty 1's at Region so there are four State spots. With 23 bands, that SHOULD be safe.
  14. Area Contest is at Judson High School, Saturday, October 30th. Region 11 Contest - Saturday, October 16th - Judson High School 4:30 - 6:45 5A Bands 7:45 Wagner 8:00 South San Antonio 8:15 Steele 8:30 Eagle Pass 8:45 Del Rio 9:00 Clemens 9:15 East Central 9:30 Judson Region 29 Contest - Saturday, October 16th - Farris Stadium Schedule not posted yet Brandeis Brennan Clark Harlan Holmes Jay Marshall O'Connor Stevens Taft Warren Region 32 Contest - Tuesday, October 12th - Gupton Stadium 6:00 - 7:15 5A Bands 7:45 Lake Travis 8:00 Vandegrift 8:15 Vista Ridge 8:30 Westlake
  15. As the guy in charge of running the VRMF, I appreciate reading this. Congrats on a wonderful pair of performances! Also, we brought together an EXCELLENT panel of judges from across the country, so I know that all of our bands got some great feedback this weekend.
  16. I really think you have made your point, repeatedly, and need to dial it back now. Also, there is nothing in the statement "Round Rock choosing to attend Westlake has never prevented them from reaching grand national finals in the past and it won't this year either" that is some guarantee that they will make Finals at GNats this year. If it happens or it doesn't happen, it won't have ANYTHING to do with the decision to go to Westlake over TMC.
  17. Not all of these decisions are made with strategy in mind. Yes, Round Rock goes to the Westlake contest out of loyalty. Frankly, I admire them for that. The Westlake folks are awesome and run a great contest.
