Band2021 Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 This is great news i selected 14 so now i should be able to keep all 14 and just guess placement which right now seems hard because I have a few bands in the bottom half that don't look right. Boa.enjoyer 1 Quote

Popular Post BandFan59 Posted October 30, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted October 30, 2022 The original post has been updated with the complete preliminary schedule. As mentioned above, because more than 40 bands made state, finals will take 14 instead of 12. aer06, Dave609, Dallas Hobbs and 2 others 5 Quote

Dallas Hobbs Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 I watched @Danpod YouTube vid about the new UIL Legislations(love his channel btw!) and they’ve decided to make state annual for all conferences because the superintendents wanted that. Anyone know why the superintendents wanted this? And what are your thoughts on the decision? Quote

Anyone know why the superintendents wanted this? And what are your thoughts on the decision? In terms of contests, I'm super excited about it! On the other hand, there was always something that felt so special about only getting 2 opportunities to advance to State. With it being every year, it will at some point just feel like another contest for those who advance to it every single time. It will also be more expensive for those in 5A-6A. I also think Super Regional may become a contest people skip if they want to do Grand Nationals because of how much money would be spent on the trips. aer06 and Dallas Hobbs 2 Quote

Some band didn’t go to boa San Antonio or State last year because of their grand nats plans so I expect this decision to impact that again. Quote
