Yes, they're both quite similar.  Very interesting and "cerebral" shows visually.  I'm not a huge fan for a massive marching band competition, but I can see the appeal as far as WGI goes.  For Texas bands sakes, I'd hate to see this be the norm for bands of the future.  Give me a huge band,  big green grassy field, and massive sound any day!  Must be the Texan in me...you know....everything is bigger?

And when the activity does move indoors, that opens up the possibility of American bands competing against the likes of Nishihara from Japan. Wouldn't that be something?

 

Oh my word, I can't even imagine the US ever being at the level of that Nishihara band.  They are not even human!!

Well heck, just look at the shows that elementary or middle school groups do and what they are able to achieve already! Yes, they do have groups that young. The talent level is just on a different planet! Someday I think it would be really cool to go to their national championship and experience it.

I think my three medals right now are Carmel, Marcus, and Flower Mound, I just don’t know what order. They all looked amazing this weekend

Those would also be my current top 3 in semi's. Marcus really owned their show and I hope they keep going in this visual direction because they were able to nail it as well! So different from them but added so much to their talent.

I agree,tho I'm not 100% sure. Certainly FloMo, Marcus and The Woodlands. Hopefully and surely, Round Rock. It'd be great to see Churchill in there as well, but there just isn't enough room.

Flower Mound, Marcus, and The Woodlands are pretty much locks.  I think Churchill and Round Rock will be just on the outside looking in, but close

Yup. Once they realized nothing was going to be given to them, the performance improved a lot.

Because of how they do the performance order for Finals, we can determine that:

Flower Mound, Marcus, and The Woodlands were Top 6 in Semis.
Round Rock was somewhere between 12th and 7th Place in Semis.

I think it is more difficult to make finals at SA than it is at Nationals this year.
