I’m about to be on my way to the Alamodome!! UIL rules clearly say that the band announcement will start with 45 seconds left on the 5 minute clock. Should the UIL redo some of it's timing rules? Maybe. But that's an offseason discussion. The script has us start the announcement 45 seconds before their 8 minute timer starts. If the band starts playing, we still have to talk at 8 minutes before. A few stickouts from trumpets especially, though that could have very well been thanks to the mic placement. If you're going to execute the Mahler 2 finale properly though, you need a real wall of sound -- full commitment across the ensemble. Still waiting to hear that. Such a beautiful performance, they had me in tears by the end. The Clarinet and Euphonium soloist play with such a mature sound, wonderful ensemble sounds, I see why they are here and it's so worthy, love this show so much, great job Bridgeland!
