It looks like per the schedule they’re already taking 14 to finals?? But i still wouldn’t be complaining. Also, bad judge rule is if a band gets 3rd or higher from 2 music judges and one of the visual judges, they also qualify for state. This is in place so one or two judges that aren’t in line with the majority don’t hurt a band that, by the majority deserves to go to state.

Congratulations to all the bands who qualified for the 4A state contest!!! I’ll drop my predictions later, haven’t been able to see a lot of these shows so I’m gonna try and catch up over these next couple days…though I do have Panther Creek winning, though I think Celina, SS or China Springs could as well, gonna be tight this time around, lots of programs having their best season yet!!

Considering skipping school to come here…probably won’t happen, but maybe 🤷‍♂️

Congratulations to Hebron, Flomwermound Marcus and Prosper on making state!!! Was definitely a little shocked to not see Rockhill in finals, hoping they are doing okay, but super happy for those PESH kids!! Braswell really finishing their season hot, happy to see East finally make finals at a comp this year, hopefully they have better results next year as I loved their show and don't understand why they had the season they did. Other than that, no big surprises here, congratulations to everyone who competed here yesterday!!

Congratulations to Cy-woods, Bridgeland, Cy-fair and Seven Lakes on advancing to state!! Obviously not a normal flow for an area contest, but happy everyone got at least one run in! Really wish we had had one more so the Cinco Ranch could have gone, also a little shocked with Jordon but you tend to have weird results when dealing with bad weather. Congratulations to everyone who competed here yesterday!!

Congratulations to Coppell, Keller, Timber Creek and Southlake on advancing to state!!! Not any big surprises here, glad to see Central have a strong showing, and some new faces in finals!! I think all of these qualifiers have a real shot at finals both at the SASR and state, gonna be fun to watch and see how they do!! Super happy to see SLC back at state after being 1 out these past couple of years. Congratulations to everyone who competed here yesterday!!

Congratulations to The Woodlands, NSS, College Park, Tomball Memorial and Klein Oak on advancing to state!! Sucks that finals got rained out, but idk how much would have changed regarding who made state. These Houston programs have really stepped up their game, really happy to see some programs really rise up. Congratulations to everyone who competed here, great stuff all around!!

Congratulations to Reagan, Cedar Ridge, Round Rock, CTJ and Dripping Springs on advancing to state!! Everyone knew this area was going to be a bloodbath and boy was it!! I was a bit surprised to see Bowie place so low in finals after doing so well going into this competition, hopefully they can bounce back and finish their season with a finals performance next weekend at the SASR! Also tough for McNeil, was really hoping they'd finally get in, but Ik they will soon!! also to CTJ who has been super resilient despite the major director changes, great to see them still holding strong! Congrats to everyone who competed here yesterday!!

Good morning everyone! Just now getting on after a long day yesterday, so time to start making my rounds of congratulations. Congratulations to Pearland, Dawson, Clear Brook, Dickinson and SFA on making state!!! Was a bit surprised with how Foster did, but other than that nothing to shocking! Dawson really coming out strong after not placing as high as some might have anticipated at the two Boa comps, so big ups to ya'll! Congrats to everyone who competed here, great stuff from these programs!

How's the weather holding up?

Yeah, I think 2nd-4th are pretty interchange, really is gonna come down to the day of, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they finished 2nd or 3rd tbh

I think they’ve got a super strong shot at finals!! Have been consistently at the top of the comps they’ve attended, and they have a good performance time, so as long as they have a clean run I think they’ve got a serious shot

Anything is possible, just don’t see it being super realistic imo Wait really?? Would love to know where you got this information, I believe you, I just feel like UIL would have at least waited till tomorrow to make a decision.

Royce City At this point, I don't know how to feel about Forney. We haven't seen them in almost a month, and tbh I could see them getting fifth at not making it. I really hope they are able to bounce back and have been able to get a ton of cleaning in, but at this point my only lock for state is Waxahachie. Hoping the weather clears up for tomorrow 🙏

Is it possible, yes. How realistic is it, probably not so. However, the numbers/judges have to work out perfectly, and this is assuming they beat all the other finalist which I don’t know, at least based off what I’ve seen, is super possible, but I’d be super happy if there was a tie regardless who it was, bc almost all of these bands are state worthy

As much as I’d be great to see Boyd this high, I don’t really see it happening. I think they’re got a chance of 6th, but Prosper is still as good as last year, and Wylies having their best season yet. Is it possible for someone else to take that 4th spot, 100%, but it’ll probably be one of those two in the end. And I don’t think in anyway Prosper stole Boyd’s spot at state. They had an extremely strong and powerful show, and weren’t even than far off from finals

Wow... that prelims retreat is going to be beyond stressful!

Saw this this morning, hope everything gets cleared up and the two bands didn't violate any rules. Would suck if the kids got penalized for a choice made by the directors...

Mainly talking about programs that aren’t consistent finalist at state or SASR that are either having a super strong season or have been on the rise lately. Hebron is going to be completely fine. 😂

I think Midlo has a strong shot at finals, but they have a very unfortunate prelims time. Anything is possible with a super strong performance, but unfortunately this is the type of competition where even for super strong programs, having a super early performance time has an impact simply bc of how many bands are competing in prelims and how deep this contest is with talent, but I’d be so happy to see them in finals.

Yeah I was really surprised at how their season went coming off such strong years. That would definitely hurt the band. Did any director changes take place? Their show seemed very out of style-ish compared to the else couple season, so that also could have had some impact. Hoping this happens really soon!!

I’m hoping for a 3 way tie between y’all, prosper and someone else so we send 6 to state from this area 🙏🙏
