It’s actually 5 regardless!! Even if a band opts out of area, the number taken to state is based on the number of bands who get 1’s at region. So for some reason, if only 8 bands pull up to area, 5 still go to state! Also, here’s my top 5 preds: 1. CP 2. Rouse 3. Leander 4. Liberty Hill/Glenn 5. Glenn/ LH

I completely forgot they were in this area now!! I definitely think they’ve got a strong shot at finals, maybe state 🤷‍♂️

I think the biggest reason for TC being placed lower is simply certain bands that they've beaten these past couple of years are having their best seasons yet. I do think they'll make finals, but they definitely have much more of a battle this year of being in the top half than recent years, but I think the 6th-9th range is realistic for them, unless ofc some major changes/improvements have happened. Ofc anything is possible, this is just arguably the most completive this area has ever been

it's 100% possible, we just have to remember it's two different scoring systems, though I could definitely see Grapevine place that high with a really solid run!

Area season is finally upon us! This area is extremely competitive this year, and making state, mainly those last two spots, will be a real battle. I don't yet know how many they are taking to state, but it looks like it will be 5? Any information would be great, still waiting for the schedule to be released. Anyways, here are my Final predictions for this area: 1st. Aledo 2nd. Colleyville Hertiage 3rd. Burleson Centennial 4th. Richland/Birdville/Midlothian 5th. B-ville/Richland/Midlo 6th. Midlo/B-ville/Richland 7th. Azle 8th. Grapevine 9th. Burleson 10th. Joshua I could see Azle placing higher, maybe even making state, they just tend to have more Boa styled shows, but they are really good this year. Good morning all! Congratulations to Cedar Ridge on the win!!! 2-4 was definitely tight, as I anticipated they might be, but I didn’t expect as large as a gap between CR and the other 3, but the recaps definitely helped to make sense of everything! Prelims results weren’t anything super shocking, though Aledo being 2nd in visual, talk about a comeback season. They could honestly be top 5 at state this year, crazy good show. Congrats again to everyone who performed yesterday, thanks for coming out to McLane!!

Wow, those last 4, insane. Westlake visual package, ridiculous, and that ballad was soooo pretty. First time seeing Cedar Ridge, MIND BLOWN!!! I expect them to do very well the rest of the season, GE is off the charts, and they are just executing so well. Bowie-What. A. Sound!! Gosh that brass just blew the roof down! And omg Dripping Springs, absolutely stellar performance!! Definitely the ballad of the night imo, but they are not playing around, could definitely see them in state finals!! Hello everyone! I’ve been here all night, sorry for not posting, with some friends tonight. Everyone has been insane. 7L has definitely been my biggest wow, that brass is so loud, and pretty clean, just some minor stuff. Aledo was ridiculously good, they are going to make a big statement at state, that Ben-Cen drum line, WOW!!! MG Johnson was great, super fun show! KC had cleaned a lot and I’m seeing why they made finals last weekend, great sounds. And that Sachse show, give me more!!! Super cool theme, great ensemble sounds!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words about our performance, it was so much fun!!! Congrats to our finalist (12/12🙃), Aledo in the top half is awesome, and not surprising, they are insane this year!! Will be there all night (at least that’s the plan for now), but leaving after DS! GL to everyone tonight, can’t wait!!

Wow, can’t believe this contest is tomorrow. I’m beyond excited to do an exhibition here again, the crowd was amazing my freshmen year and I know it’s gonna be just as great if not better tomorrow! I unfortunately may not be able to make it prelims, you’ll know if I post super early lol, but I’ll be there for at least the first half of finals! Okay yeah, not surprised about that, especially after reading the other comments you made here. I definitely think they’ve got a super solid shot at finals, this area is just so stacked but it’s definitely possible with a good run, would love to see them in!

My biggest hope here is to see Pearland comfortably in the top half!! Love their show this year and that they are achieving these new levels of success makes me so happy! I do also think CP could shock some people here

Definitely possible, won't be easy, don't really know how to place them since they surprisingly didn't make finals at Don Hanna, but I think Waco will give us a good idea as to where they are at

I don’t really think US bands is a great score point as to where bands stand. Placement definitely means something, but for this specific regional, I would have expected Richardson to be top 4. Should make finals here, state will depend on the day

Berkner imo isn't as strong as they were last season. I expect them to make finals, but unless they've had some major changes, I feel like the 10th-7th range is appropriate for them. Rockwall's show is amazing! Perfect show for UIL, and Boa as well apparently. Making finals at Prosper I'd imagine has been a huge confidence boost for the program, and I expect them to do very well here.

Yes, but the fact that Rockwall was able to make finals at Prosper really shows me personally they weren’t happy with how McKinney went, and that’s exactly what they showed me Prosper, but I could def see Pearce break into the top 5 here
