Amazing performance from Friendswood!! Visuals were the highlights for me, SO MUCH individual bodywork demand that they are executing so unbelievably well!! Gurad was just WOW, super clean, so much up front work that they are just nailing! Such a big brass sound, really clean and clear articulation. Woodwinds were super clean, could have used a little more volume but might just be NFHS. Soloists were super clean, but the visual part of this show is wow, those kids were having so much fun, amazing job Friendswood!! This will be a fan favorite at GN's for sure!

Happy ya'll enjoyed it!! We had a blast performing for ya'll, by far the biggest crowd I've been in front of and it was just so cool seeing everyone having a good time! Also, we are here live on NFHS for the finals of the 5A state marching band contest! Will be here for all 12 bands and awards. LETS DO THIS EVERYONE!!!

Okay sorry for causing any confusion. The content does matter in terms of the raw score which is used for the specific placement from each judge. The person I was trying to help had some weird wording and was just trying to clear some things up, mainly regarding state as content and design is its own caption at state. They’ve changed up the sheets so much since the pandemic, but yes content does matter for each caption, just not to the level the other person was saying it did, that’s all.

Hey there! Just wanted to inform you about so wrong information on your post. Area doesn't take into account content and design. It's 3 music judges (60% of the overall score), and 2 visual judges (40% of the overall score). Yes, they do have the raw score sheets, but those don't really matter as much scoring wise as the rankings from each band, as that in the end is what determines placement. For state, there's 1, no color guard caption and 2, scored, just like area, with the ranking of the bands determining placement (an example being a band gets first with a total score of 7 at state bc they got 1st from all 7 judges). Not trying to be rude, just don't want false information being spread

THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!! Love how these schools support each other despite being rivals, just the loving part of band kid!! -
Alrighty ladies and gentlemen, now that area is all wrapped up (minus C but I think Waxahachie is the only big dog coming here from there), here's my final predictions for this comp. I'm not really using area results as a helper, at least a lot as we know UIL doesn't have GE, but I just wanted to wait for my personal sake. I was planning on going to this in person, but unfortunately won't be able to anymore, but I plan on watching all of Saturday prelims/finals, maybe Friday, we'll see since I've got rehearsal from 4-6, but I'll probably happen. Only have my top 12, and then the bands fighting for the last two spots, but honestly my top 10 are my only personal locks, but even then, anything could happen, especially with how good everyone is this year. Anyways, here's my guess, lines up somewhat with what the general census seems to be: 1. Vandy (visual/GE) 2. Hebron (music) 3. Flowermound 4. The Woodlands 5. Vista Ridge 6. Marcus 7. Cedar Park 8. Pearland 9.Rouse 10. Ronald Reagan 11. Cedar Ridge 12. Round Rock Last two: Coppell, Leander, Westlake, James Bowie, Keller, McNeil, CTJ Southlake Carroll, Cy-Fair, Waxahachie, Dripping Springs, Cy-Woods Super excited for next weekend, hope everyone has a great week of cleaning!
