  1. Well Crown came out tonight with an 83.45, so it seems they aren’t out of the conversation just yet lol
  2. Blue Stars are just wonderful. Needs some more cleaning but I love their brass book, could definitely be a dark horse if they lock in!
  3. If they aren’t on the website, probably got rained out. Ik Crownbeat got canceled LN bc of rain. Attended at shows seems to be pretty strong this year based of Flo
  4. I really think Bloo is gonna do it this year!!! They have everything a winning show needs, and while BD is really amazing per the usual, Bloo is just something special. Could listen to them for hours!
  5. God I love this Colts music book sooooo much!!! I mean holy crap high brass! Drill and perc are still getting there but I mean that could possibly be top 8, some groups better watch out!
  6. Phantoms show just bring me pure joy every time I watch it!!! What. A. Sound!!! Just such a well designed product, and keeps you on your feet from start to finish!!! It’s becoming one of my favorites real fast!!
  7. Really loving the director Scouts are moving in. Could we see them back in finals, possibly. Still haven’t seen Crossmen and SOA are also loooing really strong, plus BK whom I also haven’t seen, but I love their music a lot. Biggest issue is that it’s “easier” compared to other shows in the bottom half/first couple out of finals, but they seem to have found themselves this season, could be top 12 fs if they really clean up.
  8. So happy they didn’t cancel tonight’s show! Super excited to see Madison for the first time!
  9. It makes me really happy seeing Bloo keep up with BD rn. Really love their show and hoping they can pull the “upset” if we’d even call it that. Crown and BAC still have potential, but my $’s on Bloo. But the season had just been such a step up from the past two, loving everyone rn. SA is gonna be a heck of a show. And tysm for your commentary, love reading all you have to say
  10. They def could, and probably will be in the 79’s if they don’t. also looks like scouts might be having a comeback year and while it’s to early to tell, could be top 12. SOA is also sounding and looking Realllly good, excited to see where they start off tonight.
  11. Can’t wait to be going to Denton! Great lineup, super excited to see some of the top groups in person, was lucky enough to get a good seat. Might go to McKinney as well so me that’s right down the street.
  12. I do want to note that M.G. Johnson just got The Woodlands old director before 22 as their new director, so keep that in mind when predicting them. I see them becoming a top regional and probably soon super regional finalist.
  13. As much as this would be helpful for some programs, I think the system they have now is good. Having a D1 and D2 would make things to “completed” and also less competitive, which takes away motivation for programs to improve rather than having an “easy” way in, though I understand the thought.
  14. Switch Kaufman with WM and you’ve got my list. I’m taking a gut feeling they will do well here as they were pretty good in 4A, especially these past couple years. Could also see LV and HP switching, depends on how HP does back in 5A
  15. Now for our west coast groups: Yes, BD is definitely the group to beat at the moment, but god they were sooo good! Guard was the highlight for me, but yeah, looking to 4 peat, definitely catchable though, but I very much enjoyed their performance. SCV: Welcome back!! Opening statement was Wow! Will probably win percussion, barley lost to BD last night but god they are unreal. Guard and drill definitely needs some work, but I see them competing for 5th-7th with PR and Mandies, though I could possibly see them breaking into the top 4, but it won’t be easy, but an amazing first show from them, and they did only go up to their ballad. Mandies: What an entertaining show!!! It’s like a broadway production, almost something you’d feel like McKinney North would do of recent years. Probably their strongest show post-Covid, guard was amazing, it’s going to be another crowd favorite. not much to say about PC. I liked it, they aren’t as clean as last season, but I just need a few more watches, was very tired when they were performing at 11:30 last night. Another great comp though, can’t wait to see Bloo
  16. Oh gosh, this thing just got so much more competitive
  17. A couple things from tonight’s first show: 1. Crown and Boston were just wow!!! I’m now fully in love with BAC’s show after a 2nd watch, and Crown was just, well, Crown. Not a full show yet from them, but the GE is crazy and guard is sooo good! BAC’s perc is looking to possibly take it this season, unless Bloo or BD has something to say about that, thought they will def be winning guard, at least as of now, i think. PR had people standing multiple times, and it’s deserved. That Fly or Die section is gonna have people going nuts all season. I could definitely see a top 5 push for them! the other 3 were great. It’s unfortunate for BS that the judges aren’t liking the show rn as much as I’d think, but they still have plenty time to clean, I personally think they should be over colts and cavs, but only time will tell. Can’t wait to see SCV and the other west coast groups here shortly!
  18. Would love to hear y’all’s thoughts!!
  19. Well everyone, with last night being the first competition of the season, I wanted to post my thoughts. Everyone was amazing and I can already tell it’s gonna be a great season! Blue Stars- What A Sound! I can feel the energy from start to finish, and it shows. Ballad was definitely my favorite part, and Ik it will be a fan favorite all year. Drill was pretty rough, but that’s to be expected. I’m loving this show so much thought and can’t wait to see it grow. Phantom- I mean what is there not to love about this show. The Moonlight Sonata is done perfectly, I mean that opening and ending impacts were just so good. Love the drill, and the Fly or Die section, cmon now, those soloist are soooo good! Will be one loved by the crowd all season! Colts- while the theme isn’t to big on be, they sounded sooo good! Some really nice brass moments, great soloist, I just worry that GE will be a killer for them, but they were still close to BS/Cavies score wise, so I’m not worried about them just yet. It’s a very enjoyable show, just not my favorite compared to 22/23. Cavaliers- I’m really liking where they are going with this show! The uniform changes is a nice touch of GE to go “Beneath the Armor”. Love the dark start and then ends with more light music. Very excited to see this one grow. Boston- What an opening show from them! I will admit, there are some parts that will take time to grow on me, but overall I’m liking the show! Guard was soooo good, Love the ending how they “glitch” back to music from the start, opening statement is wow and I love their ballad. Hoping it gets to the level of 22/23 for me personally, and Ik it will! This was a great show to start us off and I can’t wait for the two shows on Friday!!! Also, Northern Lights were great! Love the firebird and plants, some great stuff from that group!
  20. I’m pretty sure these are just bots 😂
  21. I’d have McKinney in over East and Braswell, seeing how they did last season and the upward trend of MISD bands, and I’d probably have Byron in as well, if they continue off their momentum from last season but yeah this is my list as well.
  22. Not an awful stadium, just not the level of McKinney/Prosper and yeah it will be very easy to get the bands on and off the field, if they still do a full retreat. I’m pretty sure Area C was the only one to do it, so it could possibly just be a DM retreat.
  23. Also here’s my early predictions: 1. Vandy 2. Rouse 3. Reagan 4. Round Rock 5. Leander 6. Dripping Springs 7. M.G. Johnson 8. Westwood 9. James Bowie 10. Forney 11. Hendrickson 12. McNeil/ Cy-Woods
