  1. Amazing performance from Argyle to get things started this morning!! Lovely Euphonium solo going into that rich opening hit, great sounds from the ensemble though a couple of tone issues in the brass, thought I'd contribute any mistakes to that early call time, my goodness. Love the use of Dance in the second movement, great job Sax duet, super mature sounds. That ballad is just so gorgeous, lovely trombone solo and a super strong closer!! Tons of visual GE throughout with the different photo sets and the use of the big camera, some really good individual marching technique and a great performance all around. Congratulations on your first Semi-finals run Argyle!!
  2. Good early morning everyone!! We are here live on Box5 for the Semi-finals of the Bands of American Grand National Championships!! I was out late last night and didn't listen to results till around 1:30, but congratulations to all of our Texas bands for making finals!! No Mustang was a shocker to me, was hoping to see them this weekend, but it was a super competitive prelims. Anyways, time for Argyle!!
  3. Okay awesome, tysm!! Nooooo Don't worry though, I'm sure we'll see them two more times lol
  4. Also, for the sake of me somehow messing this up, just confirming that tomorrow's semi-finals begin at 6 AM CT or Texas time? Boa site says 7 am and I'm guessing that's ET, just double checking so I know when to wake up.
  5. I was blown away by them at Prosper, such a cool show and they execute so well, one I'm very much looking forward to seeing tomorrow!
  6. Congratulations to all our Tx bands!! Sounds like everyone had great runs, though I saw on Hornrank from one of the Bridgeland parents they had a rough run. Kiddos, don't worry, it's just those first time nervous and Ik tomorrow ya'll will knock it out of the park!! Really hoping all 6 make semis so I get to see them all at least once, hoping for a strong Tx showing in finals, can't wait!!
  7. I'd be a little shocked if Prosper didn't get in, at least imo. I feel like it's more of a Boa than UIL show and seeing how they did at state with a really strong performance in semis I see them getting in fs. Argyle and F-Wood should definitely make semis, at least I hope so. If Tarpon wasn't here, I feel like Argyle would have a really strong shot at the 2A rep, hopefully their at least second or 3rd in class. Also, good luck to all our Tx bands today and tomorrow, as well as everyone else! Will be watching semis and finals, super excited for the weekend!!
  8. Prosper and Bridgeland are actually going this year, and I expect both as well as our other Tx bands to do very well!!
  9. Dang!! Next year is looking to be stacked already
  10. Congratulations to Celina on the gold!!! Really amazing night, congrats to everyone, and good night!
  11. Bro idk why it did that, i literally typed out spring 😭
  12. Idk if that's true considering the won prelims, at least it sounds like they did
  13. Alrighty, well, that wraps things up here in Texas for the year. Really crazy to think I'm already saying those words, but this season has been nothing short of phenomenal, and we still have Nats the rest of this week!! Congratulations to everyone who took the filed today, 4A has really stepped it up these past few seasons, and today was filled with some amazing performances all around!! Here's my final predictions for tonight (will be very wrong lol): 1. Panther Creek 2. Celina 3. Sulphur Springs 4. Davenport 5. Chian Springs 6. Calallen 7. West Plains 8. North Lamart 9. Canyon 10. Gatesville
  14. Fantastic performance from Sulphur Springs to close out finals!!! Love the muted trumpet preshow going into the super strong opening hit!! Great job WW"s with those licks, and brass with the groovy moment. Super pretty ballad, great sounds from the Mackey closer, and just a super fun performance, great job SS!!
  15. Fantastic performance China Spring!! Just such an amazing and fun show. Lovely sounds from the entire group, those soloists play on such a high level, and there's so much smiling going on in the drill. Really love this show so much, and I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon except for up, wow wow wow, amazing job China Spring!!
  16. PANTHER CREEK-AGAIN!! Love that preshow with the heart beats, really sets the stage. Insanely talented Sprano, my goodness, and what a rich opening hit! Ensemble just absolutely killing the technical runs, and great job battery, basses you were heard. That ballad is just so emotional, brass with just some heavenly sounds, wow. Great ending, again Sprano soloist just ripping through those notes with ease. Visually so clean, their marching technique is so good, I think they did it, but it will be really close regardless, fantastic job Panther Creek!!
  17. Beautiful show from Davenport!! Great euph solo, couple missed notes but caught on at the end, wow what an opening hit!! Great WW feature, love me some Firefly, and great work in the brass. Such a pretty ballad, that Flugelhorn soloists has such an incredible tone, and my wow guard, they are massive but so clean!! Great C-net soloist, and a super strong closing statement!! Maybe a little heavy on the brass at times, but they still sounded incredible, and yeah guard was just wow, wonderful job Davenport!!
  18. Wow Celina!! Cute preshow with the Fur Elise, great opening hit. Great work Trumpet and C-nets in the ballad, just such a pretty and mature sound, guard added some nice effect as well. Really strong closer as well, just such a musically amazing group, and they look amazing as well. I do think maybe, just maybe, there's a little bit of wiggle room, but wouldn't be surprised at all if they take the 3-peat, fantastic performance Celina Bobcats!!
  19. Great performance from North Lamar!! First band to perform this morning and still made finals, something really hard to do, thankfully they got rewarded with a good performance time. Big opening hit, super pretty ballad, and an awesome closer, love the trombone duet and small brass ensemble. Some really cool drill writing, and just a super fun show, amazing job North Lamar!!
  20. Super strong performance from Calallen!! Preshow is super cool, and great opening hit, maybe a little overexcitement in the tubas, could have just been the mics. Again, great use of Dance of Vengeance, super cool effect with the brass playing getting bigger, and great job WW's on those licks. Amazing job Sprano in the ballad, love the effect of the screen. Drum feature was great, and a super strong closing, wonderful job Calallen!
  21. Also thanks for the live reports @Liam Allen, wish I was there
  22. Gosh I'm so happy West Plains made the night show, because that run was stellar!! One of my favorite shows, and boy do they do it justice. Big, powerful sounds in that opener, great control in the brass. Great work with Blue Shades, that Clarinet soloist is insane, great job sax as well. Super pretty ballad, and great job in the closer pushing through, high brass popped off! For a school in their third year of existence, they are already looking to be a consistent finalist here, fantastic job West Plains!!
  23. Congratulations to Gatesville on your first finals appearance!! Such a lovely show, that ballad is just so so pretty, love the dance break, that Sax solo is killer, and the Let's go Fly a Kite ending really brings the whole show together. Some really cool visual moments as well, great effect with the props there at the end, great job Gatesville!!
  24. What a showing from Canyon to get things started!! Love the Son Lux opener, they played it so well, and great job sax quintet. Great sounds form the brass in the Romeo and Juliet dance section, really controlled but present sounds. Super pretty ballad, that Trumpet has such a lively tone, and amazing closer going back to the Son Lux. Guard was fantastic as well, some great story telling to bring the story to life, amazing job Canyon!!
  25. Good evening everyone!! We are here live on NFHS for the finals of the 4A state championship! Congratulations to all the finalist, a very strong lineup, tonight is going to be an amazing one to wrap things up for the marching season here in Texas. I can't believe this is the final week of marching band, the season flew by, but it's been a great one. Good luck to everyone tonight, let's get it!!
