LEANDER!! Wow, they really followed that run from CP so well!! 100% think we'll be seeing them again, wonder if they can snag that 3rd spot in AAA DB, because wow what a run. Great job trumpet soloists going into that massive opening hit, wow brass. Lovely work from the trumpet quartet, some extremely hard stuff that they made look so easy, WW's as well. Gosh that ballad is just so gorgeous, Flugelhorn, top tier, guard adding so much effect as well. Great jam out session and love the closer calling back to the start. Just such an amazing performance, they definitely did not want to break their streak as well, amazing job Leander!!

CEDAR PARK!!!! Wow, what a run!! My goodness they've cleaned up a ton since last weekend, beyond impressed. It's just such a super well-designed show, but their execution is what takes it to the level it it's at now. Just a Huge sound in that opener, great job Flute in the second movement, and ofc love the big knife set at the end, so effective. Amazing job Trombone, an incredible sound, and that ballad is just so so beautiful, love the time change. Great job by the brass in the Barber section, my favorite part of the symphony, and that closer is just massive, love the company front, just a wall of sound. Visually very clean as well, would love to see this top 5, but it's not gonna be easy to pass Mason, but it maybe it'll happen. Fantastic job Timberwolf band!!

Great performance from Dobyns-Bennett! I really love the theme of this show, tons of GE. The big cages are such a great effect, and I love what they have the guard doing in there. Musically very strong, especially those WW's, my goodness. A couple minor things in the brass, but it's not anything huge. Visually very clean, the visuals are sick, and I love those uniforms, look great against the colorful guard ones. I'm sorry for ever doubting ya'll, do think we'll be seeing them again tonight and hopefully with a stronger run, amazing job DB!!

WOW Carmel!! They really just came in and said "hey, were still here", and still among the best in the country!! Music was the highlight for me, those Mellos can Play, and they've got a massive sound but it's never too much. Some of my favorite source music, but they're playing at such a high level. Soloists great all around, percussion was also fantastic, but I'm just blown away by their sheer, raw power, could see them challenging BA for music tonight maybe. Visually as clean as ever, those box forms were tight. GE is the biggest thing for me, I personally think the other big 3 have them beat there, but the judges may think otherwise. Either way amazing performance Carmel!!

Great performance from Jenison! Super strong opener had some headphones issues but got it fixed in time for the Requiem section and wow they're playing with such power! Love the crown 15 ballad, and an awesome effect with the big tarp, great job having no timing/tempo issues while I presume, they couldn't, see, great job guard rifle front and center, there whole line was very strong. Great closing as well, just really impressed by their sound, AA results are going to be really close, everyone's been having great runs today, and Jenison was no exception, great job ya'll!

So ummmm, I may have spoken a little to early about 1st because OMH BROKEN ARROW!!! I'm actually speechless right now. For sure taking music tonight me thinks, but if they have that same type of run, I think they're gonna take it all. Still way to early to call, but I think they'll at least win semis unless Carmel has some insane run. I mean WOW, fantastic job BA!!
-
I have no words for Avon other than Wow. They're show is so different from Tarpons, but I think they've got them at least in semis. Unreal sounds, and they're marching is just out of this world. Also, that battery is massive, my goodness. Oh, and that guard is still the best around, flawless from start to finish. I really don't see any reason they won't win tonight, maybe not music but it's not going to easy for them to lose, fantastic job Avon, wow

Great stuff from Union!! I was a bit surprised they were top 22 after how they did at St. Louis but wow they've improved so much since them!! Great musical selections, and they're execution is very high, great opening statement. Very effective ballad, soloists were great and that closer really does the job. Visually very strong as well, some great drill writing, great job Union!

Wow Catawba Ridge, just wow! Super cool opening with the member running from behind the backfield props and then it’s just such a great sound. Lovely use of Metamorphosis, great sounds from the Woodwinds in those passages. Such a gorgeous ballad, those soloists just killing it, great use. Dance break was super cool, guard was going insane and an amazing closer, and that outro really got me emotional, and those parents were really brining the energy, lovely job yall!!

Came away very impressed with Bartlett! Young persons guide to orchestra is some of my favorite source music, and boy did the play it well! Very reminiscent of Union 19’s opener and closer, but they’ve add their own things to make it sound unique. Supper pretty ballad, and the jam out feature was so sick, loved whatever effect they were creating with the dots on the big stage prop. Just a really mature and big sound from this group, very much earned their spot here in semis, amazing job!
-
Not much to say about Tarpon other than wow. Feels like I’m watching Blue Devils at time with the stuff their doing, especially visually. Guard was and is just out of this world, WOW! The GE in this show is just off the charts, did feel like a little less energetic than some of their other runs this season, but I know that they will bring it finals tonight!! That Soprano sax is just top notch, and I loved the low brass feature so so much, could definitely see the 10 year anniversary win happen tonight, as well as taking vis and GE, amazing job Tarpon Springs!!

Prosper with a FANTASTIC run!! Love this show a lot, and while it might be a "basic" show design, they are performing the show on such a high level. Great job Flute and C-net going into that huge opening hit, brass with such a rich, mature sound. WW's nailing those technical runs, so many notes, and great job brass reciprocating. Great job with the Barber ballad, a popular one as well all know but again just performing it so well, Oboe with such a great tone. Love that ending so much, the 3/4 part is just super sick. Visually clean like they've been all year, should definitely be seeing them again, amazing job Prosper!!

American Fork just threw down!! First off, great work from the guard in the preshow, my goodness. Great job brass with the backfield playing going into the opening hit. Some more string instruments, great work, brass doing a nice job being integrated but no overplaying the strings. The singer in the ballad, insane talent, Wow! Lovely flute solo to go along side and the ensemble part is wonderful. Great jam feature, Trombone was on fire, and I really appreciate how they spread the low brass out through each section to make sure there's a nice blend, and a great closer. Visually really clean as well, tons of GE, I really do think we'll be seeing them again tonight, stellar job American Fork!!

What a performance from O'Fallon Township!! One of my favorites from them by far, it's just such a well-designed show and their execution is insane! Love that preshow so much, the bodywork is so so cool and then they just bring the sound. Some very dark and mysterious sounds in the second movement, really creating that darkness that fits the show. Lovely ballad, though some really unfortunate micing issues with the singer, as well as in the closer. There was like 5 second gap of almost silence. I hope that doesn't end up what takes them out of finals, because the rest of the show was so so good. The visual aspect just blew me away, they are literally jazz running while doing coreo on the run, beyond impressive, fantastic job O'Fallon!!
-
BRIDGELAND!!! Way to show up and just lay it down!! I'm guessing a much better run than prelims because that was fantastic. Love the intro to the show so much, battery just laying it down going into that big opening hit, what a presence. Again, percussion just flying through those notes in the drum break, love the flute at the start of it. Such a gorgeous ballad, those soloists were just soaring, WW's with some super mature sounds, love the bodywork they have some of them doing during the brass playing, and what a powerful closer, both sections kiln those technical passages. Guard was also great, the double flag work at the end really brings it all together. I really think they just did it, and hope we'll be seeing them one more time tonight, fantastic job Bridgeland!!
-
Great showing from Homestead!! Love the turnaround straight into that huge opening hit, though I think it could have used a little more power, might just be Box5 though. Beautiful ballad, that horn soloists was just amazing, and a super strong closer. Love the visual design of the show as well, some very challenging drill that they executed very well, and some great work from that guard, amazing job Homestead!
-
YES FRIENDSWOOD!! Wow, by far their best run of the season that I've seen, my goodness!! Still so stocked that they made the trip down because what a fan favorite it's been all year long!! Great work from the brass trio going into that massive opening statement, love the design for how the rest of the group enters the front of the field. Great work from the fiddle player in the second movement with percussion laying it down. Super pretty ballad, great job C-net pushing through the mic issues and just playing louder. Again, Fiddle and Perc laying it down, and wow what a powerful ending! Love the different moments with the members almost skipping around, and they are killing those bent-leg backwards marching. An amazing performance to round out the first block and their first semi-finals appearance here at Nats, amazing job Friendswood!!
-
Really great showing from Rosemount!! Cool pre show with the Fur Elise and some nice bodywork. Really big sounds from the whole ensemble, they are playing very well, flag work in the intro was really together, great job. Soloists great all around, lovely sounds from the Trombone choir in the ballad, and a super powerful closer. Drill was very engaging and clean, and some great visuals throughout. Only gripe about this one is their large use of Ode to Joy, wish there was just a little more variety in music, but not something the kids control. Love the guard design in this one a lot as well, amazing job Rosemount!!
-
NORWIN!! Wow; for an 8 AM performance they really brought the sound this morning!! Just great stuff all around. That guard is amazing, their techs were going crazy all performance long, just some really challenging tosses that are up front but they were nearly flawless. Musically super strong, great sounds form the trombones going into that super powerful opening hit. Really beautiful work in the ballad, that Sprano was ringing and just a super strong closer. Visually very clean as well, drill was really solid, amazing job Norwin!!
-
Great stuff from Walled Lake!! Some very challenging music that they are executing super well! Great sounds in those first two movements, sections killing their features. Some minor timing issues in the ballad, but the group still sounded great. GET IT DRUMLINE!! Loved that feature, really helps build into that super strong and pretty ending, amazing job Walled Lake!!
-
Holy Crap Brownsburg!! I do see why many were shocked to see them in next 8 because that feels like a finals show to me!! Love the preshow back field-ish playing, amazing sounds. The amount of bodywork in this show is insane, it adds so much to the story and is super clean. Lovely sounds from the soloists going into the opening hit (can't tell off sound what instrument that is), great sounds from the ensemble. Guard was fantastic as well, some very exposed yet clean work, and gosh that ballad was so so pretty, amazing job with the tempo changes. I feel like if anything is hurting them it's probably GE??, but I don't have any issue following the show so idk. Either way, fantastic performance Brownsburg, would be super cool if they were able to make the jump!!
-
Fun show from Franklin! Soloists were great all around, WW's and brass killing those technical runs in the second movement. Wish the battery wasn't glaring over the soloists in the ballad, they're clean for sure but a little too loud for my taste, though amazing job with the drum break! Some super strong visual moments and a great performance all around, great job Franklin!

Wow Deer Creek, I didn't think I'd be getting this emotional this early in the day, but here we are, and what a performance!! Great job brass quintet in the opener, some really mature sounds, especially from the main trumpet, and great entrance by the ensemble. Supper pretty ballad, great work with the brass playing to the endzone, and what a closer, super effective writing that they executed very well. Some very effective drill writing as well, plenty of call backs to the rose set throughout, amazing job Deer Creek and congrats on your first semi-finals performance!!
