  1. Well ladies and gentlemen, presenting you 2024 boa grand national champions.....Jk BA is still in the convo. No words, that's the definition of executing to the highest level, and that's what Avon just did. I still see music going somewhere else, but they will take visual and GE for sure (unless by the power of the Gods Tarpon cooks harder than that). I'm speechless, that was just near perfect, all of it, and I love it so so much. Thank you Avon for pushing boundaries this year, look great, sound great, and guard is great. I see them at the top for a while if they continue to have these stellar show designs, fantastic job Avon!!
  2. Also small heads up, I will be missing Murry and the live awards, gonna hang with some friends after Tarpon but I'll definitely be watching them when I get home, will be nice to be able to skip ahead, though it could be very late when I get home, but don't worry you'll get my reaction at some point tonight....or in the morning 😂
  3. What a fun show from William Mason!! Never thought we'd have a cat and rabbit show in the same season yet here we are. Great job WW's with the opener, a little lose at times, but mostly together, Wow brass, what a massive sound. Again, love the use of sorcerer's apprentice, really fits well into the change of props and visual work going on. Super pretty ballad, soloists were killer, and love the Tell Overture, really cool with the low brass integrating a different rhythm with the high brass playing the main part. Guard is also insane, adding so much effect to the story. A couple small things that I could see put them below CP, it'd probably be close either way, but their GE is off the charts, fantastic job Mason!!
  4. CEDAR FREAKING PARK, OMG!!!! Literally just had the best performance of the season by far, holy smokes!! That predrill was super clean and then that opening hit just tore down the roof on this place, WOW!! Great job Flute solo nails all season, WW's killing those technical runs, love the knife set, so so effective. Gorgeous ballad, Trombone just flying with those notes, 3/4 section was great WW's, and then its just lush sounds from the full ensemble. Great job brass with the features, and my goodness that ending, love the part with the low brass entering into the full ensemble sound, and the company front to bring it all together. We'll see how Mason responds but could 100% see that in 5th, fantastic job and congratulations on your performance Timberwolf band!!!
  5. Just such a professional run from Carmel!! The musical ability of this group is just insane, talent all over the place, and everyone is playing with such incredible sounds. From the soloists to the whole ensemble, everyone is taking responsibility to sound their best on an unreal level. Love the source music, been a while since I heard some of the music in that closer (vandy 18, I think). Visually insane as well, very well could see that 2nd or 3rd, just clean clean clean, amazing job Carmel!!
  6. Oh wait you right! I was there live that year for my first nats and could have sworn BA went first in top half lol, goes to show how well my memory serves me 😂
  7. Wow Broken Arrow, I MEAN WOW!!! I'm once again at a loss for words after watching that performance. Everything about that run was nearly perfect, literally just a couple things drill wise, but musically, MY GOODNESS!! They really want Kevin to find a new home, and I think he might, though I wouldn't mind Florida as well. Getting heavy Edge of Eternity in the preshow, great job Flute soloist and WW's, and then it's just bang from the brass. Lovely work flute duet again, so much bodywork going on in the drum-break, and boy that battery is just letting it rip. Incredible ballad gave me goosebumps, and I love the Bari sax/battery break, the electronic beats really add some great effect, and then that powerful closer with the brass just bringing the heat. We'll see what the other 3 have to say, but they very well could win tonight, wow wow wow, incredible performance BA!! Also, just some superstition but they had the same performance spot in 21 when they won, just saying 👀
  8. American Fork SHOWED OUT!! So happy they finally got back into finals, should have happen in 22 imo they've done it here, and with an amazing show!! First off, that singer is so talented. Being able to hit those lower notes with such clarity and precision is not easy to do (yes, I've been in choir programs before), but she does it with such ease. As for the ensemble, boy what a sound. That opening hit really packs a punch, and WW's killing those technical licks in the second movement with ease. Jam out session is a blast, and then another big moment in the end. Visually love the package, tons of GE, and it's clean, not to mention that insane guard, WOW! Welcome back to finals American Fork, and congrats on that fantastic performance!!
  9. WOW Bridgeland!! What finals run for this first-time finalist at this event, my goodness. That snare line and their whole battery is just insane, great job with preshow going into the massive, beautiful hit!! Great job soloists in the second movement, and brass ya'll kill those lyrical parts, such mature and round sounds. That ballad is oh so gorgeous, just such emotional sounds coming from everyone, and that closer if just the ribbon on top. Very clean visually as well, so much to eat up from this show, and they really finished the season with a bang, congratulations on making finals on your first visit, and for that incredible performance Bridgeland!
  10. Great showing Dobyns-Bennett!! They've always done a great job of storytelling their shows so well, and tonight was no exception. Love the music in this one, some really challenging stuff they they're nailing. Soloists were great all around, that Trumpet has an amazing tone, and I love the closer so much, super cool effect pulling the members into the big cage props. Visually super pleasing as well, the black and white goes so well against the colorful guard uniforms, and btw they killed it tonight as well. Took a little while to get going but boy did they prove themselves this weekend, amazing job DB and congrats on your finals run!!
  11. What a phenomenal run from Proser! I will admit, a couple small music moments, but other than that, wow. Lovely work duet going into that massive opening hit, very rich sounds from that Trumpet line. Love the pickup in pace, again great job duet, WW"s killing those runs. Beautiful sounds from the Oboe in the ballad, love me some Barber. Closer is just such a great, again love the 3/4 section, great outro as well. Visually some super cool moments, but just so happy we got to see them a 3rd time, very deserving and congratulations on your finals performance Prosper Might Eagle Band!!
  12. Awesome performance from Castle! 100% my favorite of theirs now, I mean wow. The buy in from these kids is massive, as they just elevate the performance to new highest!! Amazing job again with the Caves intro, BD would be proud. Soloists are working it, that trombone in the ballad is incredible. Great sounds from the group as a whole, tons of dynamics and range in difficulty. Visually just stunning, those uniforms are so so sick, and that guard has really stepped it up this year, fantastic job Castle Marching Knights!!
  13. Wow Leander, way to get the night started with that super fun show!!! The musical improvement from this group over the season has been such a journey, but they just laid it down!! Amazing as always from that Trumpet soloist into that massive opening hit!! Quartet was nails, and omg that ballad just really hits the spot. Great visual moments, the huge shades set is so cool, and these kids are just having such a blast. Congratulations on making finals and your performance Leander, amazing job tonight, Leander Lions!! Forget to mention, but way to overcome the technology issue! First the issue at the SR and now this, thankfully they made finals here though, but good job dealing with that
  14. Good evening, everyone! We are here live on box 5 for the finals of the BOA grand nationals. Good luck to everyone competing tonight, special shout out to our Texas bands, let’s bring the heat and finish the season strong!
  15. Yeah. They have an amazing time, but so does Avon lol Tonight’s gonna wild to say the least
  16. LETS GOOOOO TEXAM TEXAS!!!! AND AMERICAN FORK!!! 12/12 on finalist baby, but my goodness I’m so unbelievably happy right now, almost started crying for Leander Propser and Bridglenad, my heart was RACING!! Happy to see BA in 2nd in 4A, tonight is going to be insane. Bit surprised Marian wasn’t top 3 in 1A, no surprises in 2 or 3A (don’t know how I knew castle was gonna was gonna win visual), Carmel tying for music is no shocker, definitely there biggest strength, was just hoping I’d be with BA. Can’t wait for tonight!! See ya’ll in a couple hours!!
  17. Love the uniforms Leander, way to represent your schools history!!
  18. Okay so with that post here's my thoughts. I think 1-4 could be in any order, it's all gonna come down to performance tonight. I could see CP over Mason, and my top 9 are my only locks. I'd love to say Prosper is but with how deep of a filed the bubble is, they could possibly get left out, though so could many other groups, and some will. I could see O'Fallon and Jenks making finals, but other than that I think it'll be pretty close to this, could honestly see DB out, though I'm to scared to leave them out, plus they did do very well today, results will be scary to say the least
  19. Great stuff from all the class rep bands!! Very nice music and visual moments from all 5 groups, will be fun to see how A shakes out. Anyways, now that everything is done and said, here's my predictions for top 12, next few out and class awards (prepare for these to be terribly wrong): top 12 per semis performance: 1. Broken Arrow 2. Avon 3. Carmel 4. Tarpon Springs 5. William Mason 6. Cedar Park 7. Bridgeland 8. Leander 9. Castle 10. Dobyns-Bennett 11. Prosper 12. American Fork --- 13. O'Fallon Township 14. Jenks 15. Brownsburg 16. Homestead 17. Fishers Class Awards A: 1st. Murry-sweep 2nd. Marian Catholic 3. Bourbon County AA 1st. Tapon Springs-sweep 2. Catawba Ridge 3. Jenison (hoping this is Argyle) AAA 1st. Cedar Park (music/ge) 2nd. Leadner 3rd. Castle (visual) AAAA 1st. Broken Arrow (music/ge) 2nd. Avon (visual) 3rd. Carmel (could see taking music)
  20. Holy Moly Castle!!! Wow what a show, first time seeing it in a minute, but I see why they're having such a fantastic season because that show is insane!! Great job sax soloist going into the Caves intro, love it so so much!! Love the Writings on the Wall Ballad, that Sprano and C-net were going off, and the ensemble sound is so mature, but my goodness they are loud this year. Great closer as well, really brings it all together nicely. Musically just wowed, but also visually. Absolutely nailing those dots, and those uniforms add so much nice effect, would be shocked if we don't see them tonight, amazing job Castle!!
  21. Nope, same thing! They did great though, see why they placed in top 22, great performance all around!
  22. Really strong showing from Jenks!! Much improved since seeing them at Prosper, I see why they did so well at OBA because what a way they've come!! Musically such a strong sound, that brass really brought it in the opener. Great work WW small ensemble, and great job to the guard soloist. Love that ballad a lot, low brass choir was just amazing, and a super strong closer as well. All around soloists were great, guard was really good as well, a couple drops but nothing major, and visually fairly clean, will definitely be close to finals, but they're for sure in that bubble, amazing job Jenks!!
  23. What a fun show from William Mason!!! First time seeing the whole thing and yeah, its a GE monster for sure!! Really amazing sounds from the ensemble, that brass has really stepped up their game recently!! Love the CP 15 music, WW's killed it, loved the Sources apprentice, great use with the band doing some crazy visuals. Loved that ballad so much, great job soloists, and the William Tell was just the cherry on top. Visual GE everywhere, so much individual demand yet so well executed, and that guard was ON FIRE!! I think them and CP will be battling it out tonight, I think CP was cleaner, but Mason has stronger GE, but it'll all come down to the judges tonight for that 5th spot. Love this show a ton, can't wait to see that again tonigth, amazing job Mason!!
  24. Solid run from Fishers!! Tbh, I do see why they've been having a bit of an off season, not really digging the design of this one, but again not in the kids control at all. Some good musical moments throughout, that drum break was really cool, though not a huge fan of the narration, kind of takes away the focus for me. Visually super good, loved the big rotating circle, and they had some other good rotating forms. Musically felt it lacked in dynamic, kind of felt like the same on dynamic all show, and the guard was fantastic, really building off their last WGI season, great job Fishers!
