  1. I’ll do block rankings after each one
  2. Little Elm-Spy Games: What a fun show! Visually was super impressed. Plenty of forms like the eye and gun scope, and plenty more. Guard was wow, but not surprised coming from the Open Class champions!! Soloists were fantastic, loved the tuba duet, and the C-net singer in the ballad, though wish I could have heard her more. Percussion feature was super strong. Brass had some solid moments but some inconsistency in tone and volume, need to clean that. Overall really great show from Little Elm!
  3. Commerce-Unravel: Great showing from commerce! I liked the reoccurring theme between the soloists and snares throughout. Some great musical moments, some spots need more cleaning but they’re in a great spot. Just need to work on not sticking out from certain section. Visually lots of GE, that opening move with the thread was super cool, lots of movements of unraveling. My gut says they win A today, think Whitesboro takes music but I think it will be close, great job commerce
  4. Wylie-On Air: yeah that was great! I do wish they had a little more volume in their big hits, but what’s there is great. Sax soloist in the ballad is a cheat code. They play with great style, a couple moments in the brass but nothing major. Visually so impressive. Is the laydown to spell news new in the WWs? Didn’t see that last weekend, great vis ge right there. Think we will be seeing them tonight, fantastic job Wylie! Oh and the guard, Wow! Rifle line was ridiculous. also big ups to the injured marcher in the WWs for still marching, u killed all those visuals
  5. Whitesboro-Luna: such a better show than last year. For a 3A school, it’s a pretty challenging book. Loved the brass and WW features in the start. Guard had some great flag work during the mini-ballad(?) in the 2nd movement (I think). Some good visual ge with bodywork. Hope the issue with the prop doesn’t hurt them, big ups to the students for pushing through. Lovely soloists, made a strong showing for A champs. Great job Whitesboro!!
  6. Reedy-Midnight: This is a prime example of should make finals but might not bc of the depth of this comp. Noticed things that were better than last week right off the back. Soloist were great, musically very strong as they’ve been all year, just such a mature sound. The backfield playing by the brass during the ballad is chefs kiss. A couple of timing issues with tempo but recovered the next beat. Visually tons of GE from each section, could see the toe height from the upper section. They put on a real fight and could make the night show, amazing job Reedy
  7. Rockwall Heath- Ancient Embers: already such a stronger performance than last week. I really love how they continue the same music throughout the soloist like the Basson and Trombone and speaking of soloist, they were all wonderful. A little rough edges in the brass at times, but boy do the pack a punch. Visually is probably there weak point, especially in GE, but they will do phenomenal at area me thinks. Really strong start to today, amazing job Heath!!
  8. And i actually remembered my portable charger this time lmao so I can cover prelims and finals
  9. Good morning everyone!! We are here live at children’s health stadium in prosper!! Best of luck to everyone taking the field today, getting into finals will once again be a blood bath here.
  10. Super excited to see the rest tomorrow at prosper!!
  11. Also to note I’m case people freak out, Lovejoy is going first in finals so students can go to Hoco dance after
  12. 6-6:30 is normally when I get there. Not really anyone at 6 but yeah 6:15ish it sometimes starts to get long pretty fast
  13. I think those bands will probably place around the same as last year, maybe HP slips in or is close, but that’s probably it. I hate saying this bc those area C bands are amazing, but they aren’t just at the level of bands from the top of areas like B, H, and some of F, D & E. Are they bad, not at all and honestly C brings some of the more entertaining shows but they just aren’t as clean but state as some others
  14. Based off what I’ve seen I’d say Poteet has the strongest chance, really like that show a lot and it’s a really great design
  15. It’s under the event schedule on the boa site when u click on participating bands! National Anthem is at 7 PM, finals starts at 7:30, class A exhibition will be at 7:15! For future reference, you can go to the directors tab, scroll down to the event u want details for and find all the schedules and details!
  16. This. I think Argyle will still be top 5 or 6, they are really strong this year, though they need to have a strong prelims run but seeing them at finals at McKinney, yeah they’re still really good
  17. Brewer has also been having an incredible season winning the Godley contest, that brass line is really strong. Could see them snagging first, but CS won’t make it easy
  18. Keller is not losing music, and it’s not a question. Sachse is great but them and Keller are on two completely different levels that are pretty fair apart
  19. Final Preds: 1. Keller (sweep) 2. Byron Nelson 3. Sachse 4. Lake Belton (could swap with Sachse) 5. Duncanville 6. North Mesquite 7. Lake Ridge 8. Grapevine 9. The Colony 10. Colleyville Heritage/Mansfield/Legacy
  20. Oooo, S7! Sucks it’s a lot smaller (kinda) but still a solid block regardless
  21. You good haha! I haven’t seen WG, Will at prosper but them winning POC is a good sign, and obv Independence is having a very strong start
  22. They are going to Prosper….this was for the Bedford comp last Saturday lol
