  1. WOW Sulpher Springs!! Guys I could see that winning lol! By far the loudest sound of the day, they did not play around with that run, should still be a medalist, great job SS!
  2. Yeah, I did here some issues as well, could cost them. It's going to be super duper tight between the top 4 (assuming SS have another solid run), but it seems the spot for the gold is a real tossup right now, which makes things exciting, can't wait for results!
  3. Okay yeah Celina, at least musically, has this one in the bag. I think PC over Anna, but just ever so slightly, and of course we still have to see if SS can hold their own, but an incredible show from Celina, great sounds all around, really enjoyed that show!
  4. Really hoping they pull out the W or at least move up to 2nd…time to see how Celina responds
  5. Dude I was crying when they were done, especially after seeing their DM. @maxin459 I heard it to with the FE, but I bet you it was just on NHFS’s side, happens a good amount, kind of like with Crown this year at dci finals. But an incredible run, such young talent, incredible marching, really think they might take the gold tonight, amazing job Panther Creek!
  6. Hello everyone! I'm thankfully able to watch the back half of finals, super excited to see what our top 5 groups for prelims have in store for us (secretly hoping PC get's the W!!)
  7. Also, hope those kids at Canton, supper surprised they didn’t make it….
  8. Yeah, I think Regans shows overall seem to do better with boa than UIL, and it’s definitely possible that they jump that much!
  9. It’s definitely very possible! They are doing really well in the boa comps, and of course were only 3 out of state finals, which is really impressive considering it’s only their second year as a 6A school, but of course I really hope they make it!
  10. 100% a possibility! I’m a big fan of Krum, was blown away by their show last year at boa dfw, such big sounds for such a smaller band, but they always put out great shows, so I’m a little biased
  11. Good luck to all our 4A bands!!! Really hoping Panther Creek makes finals, I’ve got a close friend whose sister goes there and Ik he’d freak out if they did
  12. Yeah it's by NO Means easy. Was blown away by their musical talent/capabilities when watching them live at area H, I'm not surprised at all that they won, just so, so clean
  13. I'll do some changes and make my "final" list after San Antonio happens, but after 6A state, here's my current predictions. I do think that with Hebron taking the weekend off and taking the time to rehearse and clean is going to really benefit them, and yes, I'm biased and Really want them to win, but I'm thinking it will currently look something like this. Hebron swept content/design in both prelims and finals at state, which is a really good sign, and music was very good, just need to clean up visually which they have a good amount of time to do: 1st. Hebron (music/GE) 2nd. Carmel (visual) 3rd. Avon 4th. The Woodlands 5th. Blue Springs 6th. William Mason 7th. Brownsburg 8th. Pearland 9th. Round Rock 10th. CTJ 11th. Fishers 12th. Keller First few out: Dripping Springs, James Bowie, Bentonville I'd love for Dripping Springs to take that 11th spot over Fishers and could see it happening, will be very close but I'd say top 10 are pretty much locks assuming CTJ makes finals at San Antonio this weekend and cleans up, it's defiantly more of a Boa than UIL show so I think they will be just fine here, will be watching all of both Semis and Finals, very excited for next weekend!
  14. 1, I believe in the Cedar Ridge comeback and do believe that they will make finals here. I'd say my bubble bands for finals that I don't have in my top 14 are Leander, James Bowie, Keller Central, Timber Creek, and Westlake. Unfortunately won't be able to watch any of this, hoping our football game is over before they day finals retreat which should happen, but best of luck to all these bands competing this weekend!
  15. Welp, the 6A state are 5A area now being done, here are my final predictions for this comp! Definitely gonna be a big battle for those last couple of spots, hoping to see first-times in finals: 1st. Vandergrift (visual) 2nd. Marcus (music) 3rd. The Woodlands (GE) 4th. Ronald Regan 5th. Vista Ridge 6th. Rouse 7th. Cedar Park 8th. Bridgeland 9th. Wakeland 10th. Cedar Ridge 11th. Round Rock 12th. CTJ 13th. Westwood 14th. L.D. Bell A 1st. Krum (sweep) 2nd. Pecos 3rd. Manor New Tech AA 1st. Argyle (sweep) 2nd. Roma 3rd. Grapevine AAA 1st. Rouse (music/GE) 2nd. Cedar Park 3rd. Wakeland (visual) AAAA 1st. Vandergrift (visual) 2nd. Marcus (music) 3rd. The Woodlands (GE)
  16. Lovejoy should be back in finals next year, unfortunately they got a 2 at region for going overtime if you haven’t heard yet, but I’d say the probably would have placed in the 7th-9th range
  17. Also, I do want to give a HUGE Shoutout to Marcus!!! going from 13th at boa SA and 9th at state to 2ND at state... I don't think people understand HOW hard to pull off that type of jump in placements is, and Ik this is a completely different group and show, but that's still super impressive, they are my dark horse to win SA if Vandy or The Woodlands don't, but an absolute historic season for them, and my favorite show of theirs in a good while, although I LOVED the missing piece
  18. OMG your right!!! As much as I'd love for an upset, I really hope they win because then they will have everything you get from marching band (many regionals wins, 3x state (4A in 2013 and 6A in 2022/23), and GN's in 2019)! Also have won Honor band so like a SA win is all they need, lets go get it Vandergrift!
  19. Congratulations to Vandergrift on the two time!!! Seems they are starting to build quite the dynasty over there, will be interesting to see how things are at SA, would love for Marcus to upset. congratulations to all our finalists and to all the bands who competed these past two days!!!
  20. I think the marching band activity as a whole is starting to shift away from just strict marching and more bodywork/choreography, which yes is what most of North's show is, but seeing how they did at area, I don't think them not having a ton of marching is something they should be worried about.
  21. Super strong performance from Waxahachie! Love all their musical selections, I remember watching Yellowstone with my family so hearing the theme takes me back, and Rocky Point Holiday is always a classic. Very rich brass sounds and soloist were great, amazing job Waxahachie!
  22. I decided to just listen to the shows while doing some schoolwork starting with Bridgeland.....Wow, just wow. Such a beautiful performance, they had me in tears by the end. The Clarinet and Euphonium soloist play with such a mature sound, wonderful ensemble sounds, I see why they are here and it's so worthy, love this show so much, great job Bridgeland!
