  1. Ik this is very late but congratulations to Richardson on the win! Really happy to see these programs finishing their season strong!
  2. Oh that’s right, I completely forgot the won in 15! Super happy for them though, really enjoyed watching their show!
  3. Also, congrats to CTJ, Pearland and James Bowie on y’all’s prelims run! Cant wait to see y’all’s semi’s performances and hopefully finals, and best of luck to Hebron, Keller, Round Rock, The Woodlands and Dripping Springs tomorrow!!
  4. Alright thank you so much! Was going off the assumed time but I should and will be looking for a schedule, thanks for the reminder!
  5. Oooooo Um yes for sure! They had an incredible season, obviously making state for the (I believe) first time in program history against some very accomplished programs! They finished 4th at Golden Triangle this year over 3 5A area B finalist (yes ik it's wonky scoring and very early season but it's still something), but yes, assuming they keep up their momentum they will almost 100% make state and probably state finals as well, don't know what area they would be in but could also see them winning that area for many years, very underrated band that's been very much on the rise post-covid
  6. So I just want to make sure I get this right, Semis start at 6 AM in Texas/Central time, and 7 AM in Est Time? Just want to make sure I wake up Saturday morning at the right time lol
  7. And best of luck to our #TeamTexas bands competing today: James Bowie, Pearland and CTJ!!! I will be doing live commentary but unfortunately only over semis/finals as I do have class to attend 🥲
  8. Best of luck to your kid, can’t wait to see them perform over the weekend!
  9. LETS GO WHITESBORO!!!!! After seeing them at boa prosper I knew they were gonna be threat to Minneola…seems I was right about them. So happy I caught the stream, I was having to hold back tears watching the DM from Whitesboro getting so emotional, what an amazing achievement for them!!!
  10. He’s so freaking good. I’m a pianist myself and played the piece in 6th grade and lm tell you, it ain’t easy. But it’s so beautiful and delicate and he played it perfectly!! I remember freaking out with my mom when we got to see y’all at Wylie bc she’s the one who wanted me to learn the song in the first place, he played it so well every time!
  11. Finally back home. Congratulations to Cedar Park on now the 5-peat! It's crazy how much they turn on the switch when it comes to state, was still a completely different band from the one we saw less than a week before. I do feel for those kids at Rouse, beating them by significant amounts all year just to lose by a small amount, but with state being each year for a good while, I feel like someone's bound to dethrone CP, right?? Huge congrats to Forney and @clarinetistkai05 on the 4th place!!! While hearing Leander get 5th was a bit shocking, Forney's finals performance was just SO GOOD. Bottom half was about right, although I didn't see F-wood getting 11th, and the Henny jump was a surprise but not unexpected. Really happy to see Lone Star not drop like they did in 2019 ( don't know what that was about), but yeah, other than that pretty much lined out to what I thought it would be. Finally, to all the band kids, thank you for all the hard work you did this season to allow us to be entertained, emotionally damaged, and absolutely blown away by your amazing shows! It's really crazy to think that were pretty much done with marching band here in Texas. It's the last year that I will know anyone personally in my High school's band, which kinda feels weird, but I'll be rooting for them regardless. This year was definitely one if not the most competitive all around years in Texas, and I know next season is going to be even better! But again, to all the members of all the bands, thank you for all you do for us band lovers, enthusiast, and nerds around the world!
  12. I definitely think Forney is gonna be like Wylie East (assuming the continue keeping their momentum up) and will most likely make state out of this area next year. Top 3 are gonna stay the same for a long time unless either one of them falls/ has a cedar ridge year "not trying to diss or hate on CR I loved ya'lls show much just using the example as a reference" or get passed, Wylie will most likely continue to be a state qualifier, they've really found themselves, with those last two spots going between Prosper, Forney, Wylie East and Mckinney Body. Of course it's boa and not UIL, but Forney was a solid point above them at SA, which isn't nothing, but it will be interesting to see how things shake up next year with their addition to this already super stacked area
  13. Well, after the conclusion of finals, here are my predictions! It's going to be VERY close between the top 4, and honestly bottom half could be in any order, all had great performances, so it's all really gonna come down to the judges. I've got a busy evening, but I'll do an appreciation post when I get home, but I will be able to listen to results thankfully. Congrats though to all the bands on an amazing season, can't wait for next year already!! 1st. Cedar Park/Rouse 2nd. Rouse/Cedar Park 3rd. Wakeland 4th. Leander 5th. Forney 6th. Burleson Centennial 7th. Friendswood 8th. Richland 9th. Lonestar 10th. Roma 11th. Hendrickson 12th. Lebanon Trail
  14. Unbelievably clean performance from Wakeland! Drill was just unimaginably clean, wouldn't be surprised if they took the ensemble visual caption. Soloist were just so beautiful, that Sparano sax places with such a gorgeous tone! Love this show so so much, was an honor to watch yall progress over the season. Mello sustain was so tight, guard was amazing, I think they will medal for sure, but it will be close between them and Leander, great job Wakeland!!
  15. THATS HOW YOU FINISH THE SEASON LEANDER!!! Just such an incredible show all around! You can see the "rippling" happening all through the show, really great visual package! Soloist are just amazing, TUBA/TBONE is KILLER!!! Ballad brought me to tears, just so freaking beautiful! Love the brass feature with the mutes, such mature sounds, just such an incredible show, amazing season Leander!!!
  16. FORNEY!!! I'm just jaw-dropped by how incredible that performance was!!! I mean where to start. That percussion is just CRAZY GOOD!!! Love the battle scene so much, adds so much to the performance, that whole movement on its own is just awesome! Drill was so clean, great sounds all around, loved the Basson/Flute duet, just wow Forney! Congrats @clarinetistkai05and the Forney band on an incredible season!!
  17. A lot can happen between Area and State, and Lebanon cleaned the heck up! Mckinney North's show is very hard to read from a UIL design wise, not 100%, but definitely more than some of the other shows here, and that could have and probably did hurt them some. Seeing the recap that was posted, it also seemed like certain bands, mainly musically had stronger musical performances yesterday than they did, but still a great season for them regardless!!
  18. All I've got to say is that the win could to Rouse or Cedar Park, because CP also just had their best run of the season. I mean WOW!!! Percussion was locked in, drill was super clean, huge sounds all around, that sax soloist in the ballad was just mind blowing, I mean I'm just blown away, I really think they are going to take it, could either way but I mean wow, that was amazing, great job Cedar Park!
  19. ROUSE HOUSE BABY!!!! Guys, I think today could be the day CP gets dethroned, their best run of the show BY FAR!! Everything was perfect!! Soloist were absolutely on point, such controlled and mature ensemble sounds, drill was super clean, just wow wow wow! They gave it their all, nothing more could have been better! Congratulations on an incredible season and awesome final performance Rouse!!!
  20. WOW BURLESON CENTENNIAL!!! Killer percussion as always! Huge sounds, amazing soloist and super cool drill! Guard was also fantastic! Love this show so so much, great job BC!!!
  21. Fantastic performance from Hendrickson!! Great soloist all around, really cool drill and guard was great, wonderful job Henny!
  22. Way to go Lone Star!!! Other than a couple musical errors, that run was INCREDIBLE!!! Guard is great, and that percussion is awesome as always!!! That sax solo during the "Tank" feature is sooo freaking good!!! Huge opening statement, really clean yet difficult drill, just a great and super entertaining show all around, great job Lone Star!!
  23. Wonderful performance from Richland!!! Loved the volcano prop, so cool! That trumpet soloist was killer. Drill was very clean and helped bring out the show theme so much, as well as the flute soloist! That ballad was so emotionally powerful! Really enjoyed that show, great job Richland!
  24. Great performance from Roma! Killer clarinet soloist! They have a really big sound for their size, and they sound really good! Really loved that percussion section, great sounds coming from them! Really interesting theme but they make it very easy to read, amazing job Roma!
