  1. They probably pretty close but thst early performance time is not ideal here unfortunately
  2. WYLIE!!! I’m sorry for doubting lol. Ik they’d make finals but umm yeah. 11/12 on finalist, congrats to Rockwall on making it back-to-back!! No SLC is surprising to say the least….it wasn’t a bad run, well, imo apparently, would love any explanation if possible. Tonight is gonna be an amazing, congrats to everyone!
  3. Alright here’s my soon to be beyond wrong prelims predictions, did end up being my 12 before today so that’s good, and no that was not on purpose, last 3 spots could be like 6 different bands: Prosper prelims preds: Marcus Wakeland Prosper Coppell Lone Star SLC McKinney Wylie Braswell Forney Lebanon Trail Burleson Centennial Walnut Grove (call me crazy lol) McKinney North Reedy Rockwall Rock Hill Liberty Little Elm Rockwall-Heath Melissa Commerce Whitesboro Class awards A Commerce (visual/GE) Whitesboro(music) AAA Wakeland (sweep?) Lone Star (music and/or visual?) Lebanon Trail AAAA Marcus (sweep) Prosper Coppell
  4. Yeah so Marcus is inane. That percussion feature, be so fr. Ballad almost had me in tears. They are a marching concert band and always will be. Wish they were going to the San Antonio SR but im beyond excited to see that tonight.
  5. Forney-the unforgiven: Wow wow wow!! I had seen their showing at HEB before today but that was insane!! Those t-bone glisses into the opening hit were fantastic and then it’s just a wall of sound. Visually tons of GE, soloists were phenomenal and that perc is def one of the stronger ones today. They really dive into their characters, just such a well designed show, see you tonight Forney!!
  6. Coppell: Hmmmm, I have mixed feelings about this one. They sound and look as fantastic ever, but I’m left wanting more in terms of the design. There’s no color, I don’t really follow the story, but maybe that’s just me. I think they will still have a very successful season, but I’m not a huge fan tbh, either way amazing job Coppell
  7. Burleson Centennial-the golden touch: just such a magical show!! Brass opener was played and handled so well, very minimal intonation issues. Loved their version of Sym 10. Drumline was ofc killer and the golden hour closer was so heart touching. If they don’t make it they should be on the edge but I’ve got them all in, amazing job BC!!
  8. Melissa-growing forward: great showing from Melissa! It is a little more of a basic show, but they do seem to be a younger group and are executing it fairly well. Visually a couple spacing and alignment issues, but some really cool visuals and drill. Musically pretty strong but again it’s nothing crazy. Should do well tonight at Celina though, great job Melissa
  9. McKinney-Metamorphosis: yeah so if McKinney doesn’t make finals idk what to say bc holy cow. That brass is pushing out some serious sound, and they sound amazing doing so! A couple times 1 or 2 players pushing too much. Soloists were fantastic, that trombone blended so well with the WWs in the ballad. Visually tons of GE, and very clean as well. Guard was also wow, we should be seeing that a second time, amazing job McKinney!
  10. Walnut Grove-Water Music: so ummmm, WG might have just made finals bc that was so good!! A completely different band from these past two seasons! Soloist going into the opening hit were amazing and the dynamics in that opener were great. Low brass feature after the ballad was incredible. Visually very clean, plenty of bodywork and visuals to add GE. A little bit of tuning issues at time but in this heat it’s to be expected. Loved that show, could definitely see them make it tonight, amazing job WG!!!
  11. Block 1&2 rankings: Wakeland Prosper Lone Star SLC Wylie Braswell Lebanon Trail McKinney North Reedy Rockwall Rock Hill Liberty Little Elm Rockwall-Heath Commerce Whitesboro a lot of these are interchange, a really hard one to predict
  12. Rockwall-retroSONIC: Holy improvement!! That run felt 5 times more locked in than last weekend!! I love the ending, really brings it all together. I think volume again is my biggest complaint for the big hits. Also, high brass needs to work on still maintaining good sound when marching bc they sound so much better standing still. Visually one of the best here, it’s hard stuff they are killing. Put up a strong fight for tonight, amazing job Rockwall!!!
  13. Braswell- blueprint of the mind: Wow, what a sound! The flute solo into caves was wonderful! Could have had a little more volume for their size imo. Ballad was just beautiful, those euphoniums were nails, loved the bodywork for the full ensemble. Percussion was fantastic, and visually so strong. Loved how they used the prop crew at the end, should be seeing them tonight, fantastic job Braswell!
  14. Wakeland- Fractured: probably the best performance of the day. Could LS or Prosper be ahead, possibly but not likely imo. Probably my favorite show of theirs since Covid, and I loved 21&23 sooooo much. Just such a big and controlled sound. The music and drill displays the theme so well. Soloists were amazing, they did a fantastic arrangement of creep for the ballad, and Perc was 🔥 Would be shocked if they don’t medal here, amazing job Wakeland
  15. Rockhill: Definitely a much stronger run that last week! They have some great moments both musically and visually, you really get that sense of two conflicting sides. I just don’t think the show lets them show their max potential, but they are doing great with what they have, amazing job RH!
  16. Lebanon Trail-Rite of Spring: LT brought it down!! It’s only getting hotter, but they did fantastic!!! Soloists are top tier, and that ensemble sound is so clean. Percussion threw down for their feature. Loved the drill, so engaging, clean and story telling. They might be having their first boa finals performance tonight, amazing job LT!!
  17. SLC-accordingly yours: yeah that was awesome! This is the best they’ve sounded at this point in the season, and holy percussion, we hear you!! It’s hot but you couldn’t hear it.Soloists/duets were wonderful, tons of visual GE, and the Jax section, so cool! They will probably be a fan favorite at grand nats and will be back at state, amazing job SLC!!
  18. Lone Star-The Journey: LONE F@&*ing STAR!!! I mean that might be top 4 today….maybe. Musically I heard nothing wrong, they didn’t let the heat get to them at all! Just such a powerful sound!!! Soloists were fantastic, features Were clean, what more else can u ask. a couple visual things but yeah that was unreal. This should be top 4 or 5 at state, fantastic job LS!!!
  19. Yeah, I could see that happening, could honestly have this set up in like 5 different ways lol
  20. I think Reedy and MN could be closer than we might think. MN def has more GE but I felt reedy was a tad bit cleaner overall. Am probably completely wrong but I could see them swapping
  21. Block 1 rankings: Prosper Wylie McKinney North Reedy Liberty Little Elm Rockwall-Heath Commerce Whitesboro
  22. McKinney North-Celestial Swing: exactly what you would expect from this band. So much fun, great sound and visuals, and tons of GE. That singer was just unreal, she’s going big places in life. I feel brass was a little iffy at times after the ballad but god they have a giant sound, you can hear those tubas all day long. Sax quintet was great, tempo felt a little off first run of moonlight but 2nd and on was nails. Visually very strong, lots of bodywork. Could def see them in finals, really depends on the judges but either way amazing job MN!!
  23. Liberty: so ummmmm that was incredible. One of the stronger and more cleaned sounding groups so far. That brass sounded like a concert band at times. Lovely c-net duet, sounded great with the full ensemble. Euphonium soloists was so pretty, and great stuff from the sax quartet. Just really impressed with their musical performance. Visually also very clean, loved the visuals during the drumbreak. Don’t really understand the theme but like they could have a couple judges put them in….maybe? They will do really well at area, it’s a great show, amazing job Liberty
  24. Prosper-Odyessy: WOW! Horn soloists in the opener were sooo good, loved how visually you could feel the conflict between the two sides. Huge ensemble sound in the opening hit and throughout. WW small ensemble was fantastic, and the duet in the ballad with the oboes (I think) sounded like concert band material. Visually lots of GE and super clean, theme was very clear, loved the drill during the drum break. Clearly not finished with it but yeah that was incredible, definitely could medal tonight, fantastic job Prosper.
