  1. What a showing from Klein Oak!! I see why they did so well at Boa this year, because that show is filled with emotional effect. Super strong presence from their ensemble, those Mellos were heard, great work with those runs. Lovely work from the soloists, and some really great visual work, and a great message being conveyed, amazing job Klein Oak!!
  2. Okay, yeah it's really cool seeing the show evolve over the season, and ya'lls kids were fantastic today, unreal performance!!
  3. Hello Keller!! Wow what a way they've come since I saw them at Bedford, because that was an insane performance!! Love the preshow drill with the members running into the circles going into that big hit, and great work Flute duet. Some very challenging writing in this music book, my goodness, those WW's killing those licks in the second movement, and that ballad is so effective, super pretty sounds from the Trumpet and T-bone choir. OMG They are playing Goodspeed, one of my favorite pieces for their closer!! Brass just a little lose on those technical runs, but my goodness they sound incredible, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we saw them again, super hard show they are executing so well, amazing job Keller!!
  4. Great showing from Lake Travis!! I really love the theme of this show, and my goodness what a beautiful musical performance!! I really enjoyed watching their show grow over the season, and they really brough it this morning. Again, love how they use Battle of the Ice, and that ballad is just so emotional. Lovely closer, that Flute soloist with some really mature sounds, and that guard adds some nice effect to the story, amazing job today LT, love that show so much!!
  5. Yeah, they didn't have the full props until after Prosper, don't know if they did at area
  6. Okay awesome, was probably to focused on the spinning ones lol
  7. WOW Marcus!! How they are able to play so many notes with such clarity and precession will always be beyond me, yet they do it so flawlessly!! Those soloists are just top caliber, man that Euph has such a bright sound, so good throughout the whole show. I love the brass writing so much, those trumpets are just ripping through those technical lines like its nothing, and MY GOODNESS percussion, what a feature, wouldn't be surprised if they take the caption again. Almost no visual dirt, and I love what they do with the prisms (minus the glare lol), also did they take them apart at SA, because if so, I didn't notice lol, but great effect, and a fantastic performance ya'll, very much in contention for another medal tomorrow!!
  8. If I'm being completely honest, I unfortunately don't see it happening. They had an amazing performance for sure and I think will be close, but that performance time is going to hurt them, and while they did beat Waxa at area, they were ahead by a good margin this past weekend, but I do think they have a shot, but I personally have them a few out but would be beyond excited if they did!! Just remember anything can happen!!
  9. Wow Tomball Memorial left me blown away by that performance!! First time seeing the whole show and what a performance!! Such mature and big bright sounds from the ensemble, and they are playing some difficult stuff. Super pretty ballad, and oh my goodness that Trombone solo was insane, great job today Tomball Memorial!!
  10. Coppell brining it this morning!! Just such a spectacular performance, nothing short of what we've come to expect from this amazing band. Great job brass with that opener, and omg I could listen to that ballad all day, so so beautifully played, such great effect with the backfield playing. Trombone feature was awesome, and that closer was really tight, great job trumpets with the repeated technical licks. Visually super clean as well, just a great run all around, fantastic job Coppell!!
  11. Really fun show from Dickinson! Love the Pure Imitation opener and boy do they have a big sound! Supper pretty ballad, such beautiful sounds from the flute and clarinet player. Great use of the Candide Suite in the closer, super really challenging runs from the C-net and WW's that they absolutely nailed, and that Drumline feature with the big candy set was super cool, great job Gator band!!
  12. If Cy-Woods was going to have a performance that could get them into finals, it was that! (I hope lol)!! This might be my favorite show entertainment wise this season because that show is soooooo much fun!!! The Fox theme is such a great opener, and the way they make it more technical than it is really helps it stand out. That sax quartet, ridiculous level of talent, all of their soloists have such a mature sound. Visually very clean, love the different step types, but regardless of the results, thank ya'll for bringing us one of the most fun shows ever, amazing job Cy-Woods!!
  13. GOOD morning Dripping Springs!!! What a performance, especially musically! The power of their brass-line is insane, so much power but they don't let it get away from them. Such a strong opener, great timing skills with the multiple cutoffs, and goodness the Crown 2015 ballad is one of my favorites of the season, and boy do they do it justice. The visual design is so smart as well, plenty of moments with the band stringing together, wonderful job this morning Tiger band!!
  14. Amazing performance from Sachse to get things started!!! This is by far the best show they’ve ever done, and if they continue with this great of a design, I see them being an advanced to state for a long time. A really strong performance on all aspects, can’t get enough of that Yellowstone ballad, amazing job Sachse!!
  15. Good morning everyone!! We are here live on NFHS for the 6A prelims of the UIL state marching contest!! Can't wait for another amazing day of band, and we'll be starting here shortly with Sachse HS!!
  16. Can’t believe this comp is already this weekend!! I’ll be watching semis and finals on Saturday!!! I bet these will change a lot, but here’s my final prediction: 1. Avon (visual/ge) 2. Carmel 3. Broken Arrow (music) 4. Tarpon Springs 5. William Mason 6. Cedar Park 7. Castle 8. Prosper 9. Bridgeland 10. Brownsburg 11. Leander 12. American Fork First out: Dobyns-Bennett
  17. CTJ had some big director changes, so that’s probably some of the cause. I also wouldn’t say Keller has fallen off, they were 2 out from finals for the SR, and I think will be in finals here. It’s a really good show, def more UIL than BOA focused imo
  18. Well everyone, with yesterday being over, were in the shadow of another insanely stacked contest with 6A state! I’m very excited to watch and see if any groups will have some comeback performances after yesterday. Anyways, here’s my take at it: 1. Flower Mound/Hebron 2. Hebron/Flomo 3. Vista Ridge 4. Marcus 5. Vandegrift 6. The Woodlands 7. Coppell 8. Pearland 9. Ronald Reagan 10. Cedar Ridge 11. Bridgeland 12. Round Rock 13. Keller 14. Cy-Woods/Waxahachie/7L With how things are going, my only personal locks are my top 10, and I think the last 4 have some wiggle room in terms of who gets in. I’ll be watching for all but the 4th block as that’s when I’ve got stuff for school. Tomorrow’s gonna be so great, can’t wait to see some more amazing bands!
  19. Good afternoon everyone! BIG congratulations to Flower Mound on the win!! I knew after seeing them at Bedford this show was going to be something real special at the end of the season, and boy was it!! While I and many others may not agree with all the results, everyone was just so fabulous last night, and it was one of the most talented group of finalist from top to bottom I’ve ever seen. I’m really excited to see how some of these programs do tomorrow for state, and for those whose season ended yesterday, congratulations on all your hard work, and thank you for entertaining us with your awesome shows all season long!!
  20. Yeah idk why I did that one lol, but i was also VERY shocked at Southlakes score, should have been top 25 for sure, some crazy recaps to say the least
  21. Alrighty everyone, with the conclusion of finals, here is my BIG guess at finals. Keep in mind this is based of Box5, so I don’t have the same experience as being in person. I think a LOT of these spots are interchangeable, 1. Hebron 2. Flower Mound 3. Vandegrift 4. Marcus 5. Vista Ridge 6. Rouse 7. The Woodlands 8. Pearland 9. Ronald Reagan 10. Cedar Ridge 11. McNeil 12. Cedar Park 13. Coppell 14. Round Rock 15. Seven Lakes Music: Hebron Visual: Flower Mound GE: Hebron or Flomo
  22. Beautiful performance from Marcus to close out finals!!! Still sounding like a concert band, such a big and bright sound from the ensemble. Lovely soloists throughout, and gosh that drumline was insane, imo the best of the night. Visually a little lose at times, but still some really great moments, love the music writing so much though, and their execution of it is at such a high level, wonderful job Marcus!!
  23. I had band rehearsal that evening and was only able to watch the first two blocks of prelims, sorry
  24. MY GOODNESS FLOWERMOUND!!! The individual marching technique of these group is unreal, wouldn’t be surprised at all if they take it tonight, and tbh I have no clue if it’s gonna be them or Hebron at this point, could go either way. Drill was also ridiculously clean, big shocker. Musically amazing as well, WW small ensemble with some top notch, and that ballad is so gorgeous, wonderful job Flomo!!!
  25. Amazing run from Vandy!!! I will admit, I wasn’t really feeling it, may have peaked a little early me think. Still, some really great musical moments, that double tonguing in the high brass is really impressive. Super pretty ballad, very mature sounds from that Oboe player. Visually very strong as always, a couple individual issues but overall solid, amazing job Viper band!!
