  1. They're planning it already. I know some CTJ moms that said that this was the case any way. Maybe they just don't give a hoot about progressing out of area at UIL.
  2. Great way to sum up Grand Nats. I may not truly get what makes Carmel's show so gold winning, but I appreciate how hard they work and your explanation of what makes their show so good. And reminding us how well the Texas bands stacked up, even tho we didn't medal. You always bring me a new perspective with these things. Thanks Daniel!
  3. I'll be rooting for you guys come WGI season!!
  4. That's so cool. I need a calendar of some sort with all of these types of concert dates on them. Would love to attend more of these types of things!
  5. Congrats to the Indiana and Oklahoma winning bands. Great job Avon, tho I personally enjoy your show FAR more than Carmel, and wish you guys had won since a Texas band didn't. I'm starting to think that bands from Texas just don't have the formula needed to medal in the Midwest. But that's ok. I like our formula just fine, and the Texas way is ok in my book. Another marching season is in the books, folks. It's been a phenomenal year, and I've greatly enjoyed getting to know the people in this little (ha!) forum, both virtually and face-to-face. To me, that has been the real highlight from this season, and I'm so glad I got to experience it. I hope all of the GN bands have a super safe trip back home. I'll be saying extra prayers for that before I go to sleep tonight. I don't want to see any more memorial shows. Ever. Good night, friends.
  6. That show slays me and my hubby. We simply can not watch it without muchos tears.
  7. I'm guessing those times are Eastern time zone?
  8. I agree, tho I'm not 100% sure. Certainly FloMo, Marcus and The Woodlands. Hopefully and surely, Round Rock. It'd be great to see Churchill in there as well, but there just isn't enough room.
  9. I get that, but I'd love to see guards ranked during marching season as well, altho I understand that that would be on a more subjective level since there are no actual BOA scores for guard. Or are there?
  10. Serious question for Jeremiah and the HornRank folks. What about starting a GuardRank site? You could rank BOA guards during marching season and WGI guards in the winterguard season. Some of these guards are absolutely mind blowing with their incredible skills. They deserve the recognition! And it might even have the added benefit of inspiring more of the Texas guard groups to up their game, which everyone would love to see. Bowie is a great example of a phenomenal Texas guard group, but so many of us are lacking in that department. Just a thought!
  11. Oh my word, I can't even imagine the US ever being at the level of that Nishihara band. They are not even human!!
  12. Yes, they're both quite similar. Very interesting and "cerebral" shows visually. I'm not a huge fan for a massive marching band competition, but I can see the appeal as far as WGI goes. For Texas bands sakes, I'd hate to see this be the norm for bands of the future. Give me a huge band, big green grassy field, and massive sound any day! Must be the Texan in me...you know....everything is bigger?
  13. Super emotional. Great tribute to Sophie.
  14. I'm already feeling emotional just trying to prepare myself for watching Castle again. #WeAreAllCastle RIP sweet Sophie. You will never be forgotten.
  15. Round Rock and Marcus were insane. Texas is on fire today. Now Avon, bring it home!!
  16. Oh my goodness The Woodlands just BROUGHT IT!! That was just phenomenal. The How Great Thou Art ballad gave me chills, made me cry, and PERFECTLY describes The Woodlands band!
  17. WOW, wow, wow. Broken Arrow did it to me again. They absolutely just BLOW. MY. MIND. A visual masterpiece. And the music ain't bad either. Just truly stunning. I can only imagine how incredible that must be live.
  18. Hey, I was glued to it all afternoon and evening yesterday and will be again tonight and all day tomorrow. I'll be super sad come Sunday/Monday. Can we start that support group soon? I'll bring some Kettle Corn.
  19. Ohhhh, I totally would have driven up for that!! (ha ha----only partially joking).
