I think Coppell would’ve been ever so closer to FloMo had they had a better start(great middle and finish though), thought the opener went significantly better in prelims, but I’m curious to see what everyone earned in prelims too!

I’m trying to pay attention to trends in previous years as well. 

Ok I got placements 1-3, 6, 10 and 12 right. And I correctly picked the music and GE winner so yay for me!

Ahhh chill I wasn’t pretending I just genuinely thought some of the other groups like Wakeland and Coppell were gaining significant ground and could shake up the top 3 a bit.

I think the only non-LISD medalists in the last decade were LD Bell in 2013 (Flower Mound not in attendance) and Keller in 2018 (Marcus not in attendance)

This makes me feel better and more frustrated all at the same time. Watching the bottom half of finals, I kept wondering how Centennial was not considered as finals worthy as some of these groups.

My apologies, I didn’t mean to come off as rude or condescending. 

I will say I agree. Coppell has definitely gained some ground but you can tell they aren’t putting as many resources into their show as last years. Makes sense considering all they’re doing is UIL this year. I get it with their wind ensemble performing at midwest, they shifted focus. 

Wakeland being this close with 3 NEW DIRECTORS is bonkers. 

I fully expect both of these groups to keep making more ground in the years to come.

4th year in a row, now. 9th time out of the last 11 BOA Dallas contests (between 2013-2023).

According to hornrank, Keller Central got a 0.10 penalty in finals. Anyone know why?

I attended finals for this comp for the first time and I just have to say that this competition is actually insane. Each band performed at such a high level. The LISD schools are just so dedicated to their craft and it's amazing to see them perform. Wakeland has such a powerful sound and is an outstanding 5A program. I can't wait to see how much each band develops over the course of the marching season!
