Non “marching” post but saw where all the Arlington HS bands were going to join together and play at the Rangers parade. How 😎 cool.

It’s a fair assessment. They are truly amazing band but even amazing bands have messy areas. I have not seen the state finals breakdown but could be part of reason they were 3rd at state.

Finally saw the Vandergriff (sp?) performance. Truly amazing and worthy of state title. Was excited to see Marcus at 2, as I really enjoyed their show this year. Was humored by the surprise some showed over where their bands finished based on how they did at other contest. So many factors and can never take out the subjective. Guess some bands didnt get selfies with event coordinator chairs at state. So sad.

So, you wanna go to state, LOL (of course you do) but look at the last 11 bands on Monday, holy amazing! 7-8 from this group alone could make finals AND compete for medals. Incredible

Realistically, I don’t see a viable way to “realign Music Areas. You can’t draw in a way that excludes the outskirt bands. It’s like football, you are always going to have powerhouse football programs with the resources to be great, every year. That’s just life. That doesn’t mean to smaller programs shouldn’t be given a shot to compete on the same stage. What football has done though is break down the A’s in to Division 1 and Division 2. Pros and Cons for sure. But you at least would get bigger 6A’s matched with other Bigger 6A’s. And each A would have 2 state champs! That would require more money of course. To me that is the only model that might be used.
