  1. Love the depth of sound in the lower registers from Roma! Very nice today!
  2. Aledo sounding and looking sharp this morning! Marching was quite impeccable and wow the piccolo soloist in the closer with such resonant tone!! I too love the jam out during Walk Like An Egyptian - great job, y’all!
  3. I’ll play here too: 1-Seven Lakes 2-Cy Woods 3-JET 4-Bridgeland
  4. I’ll play: 1-Coppell 2-Keller 3-Waxahachie 4-Timber Creek 5-LD Bell Truly the most ‘anything is possible’ area. I love watching the results roll in on Area day!
  5. I really think Wakeland will be in the medals. IMO, they were even underscored at the very competitive BOA 2 weeks ago. There’s something about the music (loved The River Cam since Leander played it in Color Study), theme, and all the wave-y energy in the drill that just grabs you.
  6. Aledo was so good at BOA and a finalist in a very competitive field - I’d be shocked if they are not at least top 2 here.
  7. Everyone did very well in some really changing conditions with some getting drizzle and/or gusty winds. I had not seen Vandy or Vista in person since Austin and I love what they’re doing and where they’re headed. Vandy has this gorgeous dynamic contrast in the closer with some delicate moments when they go back to the Tchaikovsky that is just stunning. They sound so good at every volume level. Vista has this carriage and intensity that each performer is moving with that just draws you in. And, this ferocious technical woodwind quartet at the beginning of the closer is jaw dropping in its technicality. We’re over 2 weeks away from Area H so I can’t imagine the products with so much time to polish between now and then.
  8. I agree completely. And I also love KP. Plus, we haven’t seen the full show from VR at any contest yet. Who knows how it all may tie together in the closer.
  9. A very exciting slate of contests tomorrow for sure! I will be at Reg. 32
  10. Timber Creek was the best surprise of BOA for me on Saturday. I had no knowledge or expectations of their show beforehand and they blew me away. Absolutely one of my favorite and I think most effective ballads I’ve seen this year with all the guard and their blue flags forming the big oasis pool in the middle of the band. I was surprised they weren’t a little higher in the rankings. Once the closer is put on, I can’t wait to see what they do the rest of this season.
  11. I agree. In all TX regionals so far, there have been no cases of a bottom 6 band moving into top 6 after finals… Wakeland definitely seemed like a massive improvement in their prelims to finals and I would have had them in top 6 for sure.
  12. Also shocked on no Waxahachie ?
  13. FloMo! I’m out of breath just from watching! Guard was amazing - just incredible!!
  14. Holy wow, Lone Star!! So many notes! I am floored! What a total package!
  15. Great job, Coppell - that was so fun!! Humoresque as the ballad worked really well!!
  16. Quite blown away by Timber Creek! Love that Desert Rose ballad with guard and the blue flags in the middle of the band. Super job!
  17. That was fantastic from Marcus! Their ballad gave me goosebumps!! Love those rotating blocks, too!
  18. Omg have now seen the Hebron and FloMo vids and I can’t pick but I adore them both already. Both amazing in their own styles and excited to see what this rehearsal week has done. Tomorrow is gonna be fun!
  19. OMG Hebron! I’m wiped out after that! Incredible from every performer. The degree of difficulty in this show is ?
  20. So excited to hear they are going to SA this year! Blue Bizarre was my favorite show of 2019, so I can't wait to see what they have in store for 2020!
  21. I already am excited for halftime at the Leander/CP football game this fall! It's been a little while since the 2 original LISD high schools were in the same conference.
  22. They really were incredible this morning! I watched their performance back like 4 times because it was so good. Lovely arrangements and also kudos to NBC for giving them great coverage.
  23. I agree with all of this! I thought that all 3 shows you mentioned were absolutely fantastic and quite honestly overlooked at BOA San Antonio each of those years. Orion's opener with Kaval Sviri is just such a great transition of ethereal and mystic into power. I will say that I do very much miss their old black and red uniforms and the red plumes. I always thought it was one of the more stylish uniforms and always looked very striking on the field.
  24. That would be so fun! I'd be in for that!
