Time for the sad and exciting part of the year, where we see the final runs of a lot of phenomenal shows.

Of course more bands are ditching their spirit uniforms completely for competitions and just doing a "disposable" custom top each year. Then there's Hebron, who has their school color game uniforms and a totally different competition uniform which is so unique it became their show theme this year.
Something I find a little funny is that Cedar Ridge's new uniform is adaptable and the colors can be interchanged, but they still stuck with the purple show design in 2019 and this year. Guess they just like the color!

I assume they opted out of performing in finals to get a head start on traveling to Indianapolis
I feel like we have a few users here with connections to Round Rock, but we haven't heard anything like that from them

Did anybody just hear a metronome clicking at the end of Coppell’s ballad?
Wow, I just went back and listened to the same place from SA Finals.
A metronome count off is audible from that run as well.
Yikes.
Huh, I just went back and heard it too.

I feel like Timber Creek's uniform would work well with the Cavies style hats rather than shakos.

I'll say it time and time again, Cedar Ridge has made me so proud this season, even through director change after director change, this has been a record breaking year for them.

I appreciate Box5 turning the volume up to 700% for the interview segments to make sure we don't miss a single word.

I'm betting Cedar Ridge will probably be up there too.

As an alumni of RRISD, I'm so proud of all of the showings from them so far! From Round Rock High School with probably the most challenging and entertaining show I've seen from them in a hot minute, to Cedar Ridge with my person favorite performance of the day (totally unbiased), to McNeil with potentially the best band I've ever seen from them! They've bumped up their volume so much, and I couldn't be happier for them.

Good luck to all the bands competing. Just remember to have fun. I feel like it's getting harder and harder to do that.
If Rouse and Leander are being considered as locks, I'd definitely put Woodlands and Cedar Ridge up there.

Heartbroken. Entirely forgot to include Coppell in my predictions. 😔

Cedar Ridge, Round Rock and Westwood are just NOW PEAKING. This hasn't happened...ever. They are united and out for blood. I never in a million years would I have thought this would be possible. But you bet that RRISD having 3 bands at State this year has brought these three programs together.
That being said, CTJ tweaked their show at Area..and I FREAKING LOVED IT. It's the first time that I'd rank it higher than Reagan.
Austin area bands rock.
I'm so excited for a year where 3 RRISD bands are looking so strong coming into the end of the season!
And the Deep in the Heart of Texas bit CTJ added is gonna be great in Indy!

I believe this should be the link!

Full results with points
1. Claudia Taylor Johnson - 10
2. Ronald Reagan - 14
3. Cedar Ridge - 15
4. Round Rock - 18
5. Westwood - 22
6. Hays - 33
7. Smithson Valley - 39
8. Churchill - 40
9. McNeil - 42
10. New Braunfels - 43
Some really interesting stuff in the recap, like Reagan getting 4th across the board in music, but 1st in Visual. There also seems to be a music judge that wasn't a fan of Cedar Ridge's execution in prelims and finals, but another judge had them in first. Not as all over the place as some UIL results tend to be, but still interesting.

Dang, I'm sad about how much CTJ has to cut for UIL.

The kids would know already?
I know that when I was in band a few years ago, at Area we'd find out our prelims ranking pretty soon after prelims announcements. But again, I'll add that since I heard it from students it could be iffy information.
-
Not sure on the validity, as the information is coming from students, but "top three" was
1. CTJ
2. Reagan & Cedar Ridge (tied)
2021 6A UIL SMBC (Nov. 8 & 9)

Aw that really is a sweet moment, and it kinda reminds me of being in band when Cedar Ridge and Vandegrift's uniforms were just similar enough for people to confuse us from time to time. I remember lining up for San Antonio finals and a band mom was REALLY hyping us up and we were so happy that someone that didn't even know us was so happy for us, then she said "Go Vandegrift! You guys are gonna do great!" and we realized she had us mistaken for someone else. It almost makes sense for the Vandy Uniform team to help out a Cedar Ridge member haha
