Here you can talk with everyone about results from a contest that you attended for UIL Region and so we can also take the time to congratulate all bands who advance on to the Area contest, and to all 1A bands who advance on to State. This will also allow us to congratulate all Military Style bands that advance on to the State Military Marching Contest. Can't wait for the season to begin! Dave609 Posted September 11, 2023 Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2023 Hey everyone, I was going through the UIL Regional forms and noticed that Iraan-Sheffield is making a return to UIL for the first time since 2019! They were a really well known band in the 1980's-1990's and are officially back trying to advance to the UIL 1A State Championships! Please wish them the best of luck this year! We have a few contests happening tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday, and then most of the regional contests happen on the 14th! That Bass 4 Guy Out Of DFW Posted October 10, 2023 Report Share Posted October 10, 2023 Quick question, with the solar eclipse supposed to happen during the contests, will the UIL make slight adjustments to the schedule? I know that some competitions are putting in breaks during the time of the eclipse so I was wondering what UIL would do. I think what the stadiums should do is turn on the lights in the time range of the solar eclipse so that way the scores don't get messed up because of that, especially if the UIL times it incorrectly and the eclipse happens during a performance. Var-Composite means that along with the High Schoolers, you also have middle school band kids in the show as well. Normally a lot of the smaller schools will be Var-Composite.
