I will revise after area comps are done.... and one last time after prelims at state... 1. Cedar Park 2. Rouse /Wakeland 3. Wakeland/ Rouse 4. Lone Star 5. Leander 6. Aledo 7. Lebanon Trail 8. Burleson Centennial 9. Friendswood 10. Midlothian 11. Hendrickson 12. Lake Belton This is just a rough mock up..... I've most of these bands I've only seen on YouTube... it's not a fair representation..... Not having Argyle in the top 12? Yikes. Also, I would switch LoneStar and Wakeland personally. I've seen their shows. Argyle was 7th at state last year, has grown in numbers (even if marginally), and is fighting to stay there. Their guard moved up in winter guard every competition to the highest level they could go. The visual of a talented guard could really add to the show. lost 1 Quote

I used to judge winterguard... they just need more consistency on their body forms, tossing and catching consistently and the placement of their hands being the same throughout... but a good solid guard.. watching their feet making sure they're pointing their toes while doing their show.. Yeah, I don't see Leander lower than 5th. I'd take the TMC results with a grain of salt. Quote

When LB went against them their show not to be rude but it was very messy mind you this was 2 weeks ago but there was people running into each other and things like that. Unless they had some really good practices the past few weeks then they could possibly be bottom half. astronautika 1 Quote

Like I said though this was 2 or 3 weeks ago so that is very early still in their season. So they must have some lock in practices and other things. I will be exited to see how they do at state and in their area. Quote

utee94 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Maybe we should rename you "CPGlazer" Just kidding, I'm glad you like the show. Both CP runs yesterday were pretty great, the closer was fire and is only getting better. But I thought Rouse was excellent, and Leander's show is really growing on me. The judges were petty mixed on all three and it could go a different way at State. Also, I haven't even seen Wakeland's show but I know it's going to be great. Should be plenty of drama in the Alamodone next week. Quote
Beanbag52 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 State Week! Now that Area’s over here are some predictions: 🥇CP 🥈Rouse 🥉Lone Star/Wakeland (one of the closest battles of the FISD schools we’ve seen yet!) 4. Wakeland/Lone Star 5. Lebanon Trail 6. Leander 7. Aledo 8. Argyle 9. Henderickson 10. Burleson Cen10 11. Roma 12. Friendswood SharksAreCool and astronautika 2 Quote

Friendswood I would say Leander is very much in medal contention after winning a visual judge in both pre lims and finals while being second from the other in both rounds. Music is behind both but the margin isn’t huge. Beanbag52, LeanderMomma and Bdc22 3 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Random guess: 1. Cedar Park 2. Rouse 3. Wakeland 4. Lonestar 5. Leander 6. Aledo 7. Lebanon Trail 8. Burleson Centennial 9. Argyle 10. Hendrickson 11. Friendswood 12. Like 8 other bands lol astronautika 1 Quote
Dave609 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 I just watched Mesquite Poteet's Area Finals run, definitely think they are going to be fighting for that finals spot. So far I have these bands in the bubble for finals- McCallum Mesquite Poteet Roma (I feel they will make it again) I know Area results were interesting, so there are some bands that could make it as well. jetliner Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 Calling Lone Star parents: Do you have a spare The Journey show shirt sitting around? Perhaps a sibling's that wore it to the one home contest and will probably never wear it again? I will buy it off your back at State. No but seriously I saw the parents with it at Prosper and thought it was the best show shirt I've ever seen and I really want one of my own and apparently it was well past sold out at that point in the season Quote

utee94 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 i think Leander will do well at State and medal is certainly a possibility. I have to say I like CP's draw. They've been really fortunate in draws this year, in all competitions. Gonna be a fun next 8 days... Quote

I'm not saying Argyle is going for 1st... I'm saying Argyle should be in the top 12. They were 7th overall at state last year. And this year, they are better than ever. I do think that Wakeland and LoneStar could inch up and take over some of those very top spots. We'll see! But I'm betting on Argyle being in that top 12 and finishing higher than you've predicted (which isn't even on the list). Quote
lingram07 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 We have all heard who we think is going to be 1-12 but I am very curious to see what people think of the 'bubble bands' and bands from 12-20. There is a lot of bands that are doing pretty well this year and considering area and other comps who do you think 12-20 will be? Quote
lingram07 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 7 hours ago, lost said: Area is not an indicator for state success I would very much agree with this statement because especially in Area D from last year. Lake Belton got 4th at area last year just behind Pieper and Smithson Valley but in state Lake Belton got 13th, Pieper got 17th, and Smithson Valley got 23rd. So yes, Area is not "always" an indicator for success in state. Quote
