  1. Forgot to mention Wando 2014. OMG! That show is to die for! Absolutely probably one of my all time favorite ballad!!! That show/band is so underrated!
  2. Personally, Creekview 2004 while it wasn't a national level type show, they were really good that year. To me, that closer is in my top 5 closers! Pure insanity there! How they didnt make state finals and got 19th while they got 9th at BOA SA still shocks me!! Its a bummer Creekview has gone down since then but that year was sooo good! Union 2017 I think doesnt get enough attention. I love that show from start to finish! It deserved more than a 10th place! There was one section near the end that they played a piece from a DCI group and did it really well! I agree with you Steven, Cedar Ridge 2013 was a very good year for them! That show was great!
  3. I was so excited to see Lumberton's show tonight! The only bad thing was that right as the band was about to perform (They are performing their show, not a non-competitive show), Mother Nature decided to not allow the band to play and dumped loads of rain for about 15 minutes and then went away as halftime ended. Soooo the band never got to perform which sucks. I know everyone in my town is dying to see our band perform so I guess we will have to wait another week.
  4. Ummm, I think Lumberton was going to. They did just lose their amazing head director recently and now this hurricane may push them back even farther so who knows, no bands from SETX may perform this fall.
  5. Hebron hands down. They are in my opinion, the best in the country. Musically, they are above everyone else.
  6. Today I found out that my former head band director resigned unexpectantly due to health concerns. I am asking for prayers because this is a HUGE hit on our community/band. I am overcomed with emotion from this. He transformed Lumberton, for the 5 years he was the head, into the band it is today. Lumberton would be way different if he was not there. He was the first person, other than my parents, that knew of my ability to make drill designs, and was shocked when I told him i was 6 years old when I started. We talked many, many times after school, about marching bands/drill, even to the point where he was going to allow me to help with the 2019 fall show, which later on i could not help bc of getting a new job. But still, He means so much to me and to hear this, breaks my heart. Please just have me in y'alls prayers tonight or tomorrow. Thanks yall
  7. Bel Air HS band uses contras. I noticed it when watching one of their videos.
  8. Thanks! I am in love with the selections for this year! Sadly, I graduated in 2019 so no longer in the band, but I think they will do great!
  9. I was apart of the Lumberton HS band in 2018, and we all thought Melissa was sooo good! Especially the colorguard!
  10. I know a couple smaller bands use contras in southeast Texas but none of them are like the schools you mentioned.
  11. North Shore's 2018 Exhibition Show concluding Galena Park ISD Marching Festival. That first impact gave me goosebumps!
  12. My band did A Million Dreams as our closer for our show in 2018. We had a singer and then at the end, we pulled out colored silks out of our uniform and made a rainbow across the field. Im sorry but its the best ending of a show ive seen. So biased but i dont care. Haha
  13. Yesssss!!!!! I love Arrival of the Birds!!!!! I like this show already!!!
  14. I agree. I've already shed a few tears! Haha.
  15. Do you think Lake Ridge still holds that record where they are the youngest band program to ever achieve State Finals?
  16. I may be breaking the rules here, but Lake Ridge 2013 has my vote, to get into state finals only in its 2nd year in existence is pretty awesome. It sucks that they kind of went downhill after that year but omg they were great!
  17. I would like to announce Lumberton's 2020 Show. It is entitled: On The Shoulders of GIANTS Featuring: -Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber -Symphony No.1 "Titan" & Symphony No.5 by Gustav Mahler -Yesterday by the Beatles -You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban -Simple Gifts by Joseph Brackett Jr./Aaron Copland I have a feeling this is the year Lumberton will truly shine. Last state year we barely missed finals and sadly on April 1st of this year, my former head director lost his wife to cancer. I think Lumberton will overcome this tragedy and the fact that Lumberton almost made finals last go around and really show everyone that they are supposed to be in State finals (or I really hope so).
  18. OMG!!!! I couldn't help but to just smile the entire time!! I can not wait to see this show!
  19. I know this is 2 years late but wanted to say that 2007 had Anahauc and LCM make it to State from Region X. So, 2007 & 2018 are tied with 2 as far as I know.
  20. You are correct. But I feel like a more well known band played it as well
  21. Ok! I've been obsessed with this song/music for several weeks now! its Danny Elfman's Senerada Schizophrana I Pianos. In the video, 1:19 through 1:30 sounds sooo familiar. I am certain a band has played that before but I cant think of the bands name. I think parts of this music could just work so well on the field
  22. I have a concern regarding the realignments. So in the full list of all schools, it shows Lumberton being in 5A with an enrollment of 1222. However 1222 would make Lumberton still 4A. Just wondering. Might be a fluke.
  23. I think I know the general area of this unknown band. Houston????? idk, i may be completely off but oh well. I think that now that Bridgeland is going, it will hopefully encourage some of the Houston bands to make the trip too.
