  1. So there was an update for the alignments. Don't know about any other schools but Lumberton is back in 4A!
  2. Oh boy.......looks like Lumberton is back into 5A! I am not too fond of moving back up. Lumberton as a whole did better in 4A but I guess 5A will have to do for a bit. Also I agree with oddlynormal and SpartanMarcher, the Houston area will be tougher for those state spots. Edit: Just found out Lumberton is now the smallest 5A school in the state so whoopie do there
  3. This also hits me close to home. I am a class of 2019 graduate who played the Alto Sax so I understand what you are going through, but please if you can, consider not quitting. You are only at the beginning of your high school band career. If you quit now, you are going to miss out on learning new things about yourself and life lessons. The moments and experiences I got in my 4 years will last forever. I didn't get along with one of my directors but I sat down with them and worked things out and by the time I graduated, they were one of my favorite directors! Please think about it, Band is not just playing an instrument and marching, its the experiences you will get with all of your band peers and just having fun. there is sooo much more than what other people see of it. Marching band is tough, but the finalized piece of what your band worked on for months really does pay off, and the achievement is amazing! It does not matter if your band goes to nationals or just goes to the Region contest every year. All band members are one big family! We understand what all of us goes through but we all share one thing in common: love and passion for band/instrument (hopefully). I need to wrap this up, just think about it please, you are literally just now digging your way into your 4 years of high school band, don't stop digging! Continue digging up experiences as you make your way down to the bottom where you will find the biggest treasure of all... one big band family! and of course graduating!!!!! ok I'm done with this paragraph
  4. Nvm i found them. Wow highland park did amazing!
  5. What are the final results?
  6. Grand Oaks not even making finals shocks me
  7. I dont want to sound whats the word but im shocked Lumberton placed that low.
  8. Do you only have 6A prelims results?
  9. Good luck to all the bands that have or will perform in todays competition! about to be biased but I want to say that Lumberton will look sharp in their new uniforms!
  10. It could but anything can happen from now until state. Midlothian could place in 19th or 7th.
  11. Omg if im thinking of the same Noblesville, then wow. I loved their show in 2018!
  12. Vandegrift is my favorite so far.
  13. I think Barbers Hill will be up there. I think they are going to throw some stuff to make sure they get back into that dome! Especially after they got 11th in 2017 at area and missed finals and after they got all 1's at area from the judges back in 2015.
  14. Wow. so I guess the 2 bands I think will be moving on will be Porter, Galena Park, and then the final spot could go to: Willis, Crosby, Tomball, and/or Magnolia. and that's 6 bands right there. some very good programs will not make it. Oh and I could see Grand Oaks making finals but not state. Edit: I feel like Area I has a lot of bands that was in Area E in 2017. That year there was 36 bands that qualified and 7 went onto state, and now this year 19 qualified and only 3 will move on from the 7 finalists. so some bands who was working hard to get into Area finals this year will now have to work harder
  15. I interpreted E) as in order to advance to Area, bands HAVE to get a division 1 rating from every judge. But I could be very well wrong
  16. Here is a video of Lumberton at Region.
  17. 4/5 Region 10 5A bands advanced but only 2 will go to Area which are Port-Neches Groves and Dayton because since Vidor and Nederland are military, they never go past Region. Edit: I just read a post that said that Vidor will go to Area, so maybe they will give Area a shot this year.
  18. After seeing a video of Lumberton performing at UIL, I hate to be biased but I predict they will place higher than 4th-6th. Now, I haven't seen any videos of the other bands except for Grand Oaks which they were really good but I think Lumberton will edge them out of the top 5.
  19. So Pasadena Memorial has apparently dropped out of this Competition. I don't know why.
  20. I think Lumberton will remain in 4A for at least another few years. The school did get bigger this year, enrollment around 1200 in a school made for 900 students. I did hear that UIL is raising the enrollment line for 5A higher so I don't think Lumberton will reach that line yet. I do think Lumberton does better in 4A for all the extracurricular activities so I hope we don't move back up.
  21. You also never know any of these bands could have the best/worst run and just change it all up. By the way, why isnt Porter attending this competition. Y'all got 2nd last year and if y'all came this year, I could see Porter getting 4th-6th.
  22. Just to let you know, Lumberton is actually bigger this year. 204 on the field which is the biggest yet.
  23. whats your top 12 predictions?
