Scores in general seem to be on the rise these last few years. Are bands and corps just really upping their game, or are the more recent scores just a bit inflated? In your humble opinion of course.

Interesting that SCV took the lead last night. This year has been way more back and forth than last year, when the BD pretty much ran away with it. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out! Oh my goodness I just realized something. I’m going to be in Indianapolis either right before or right after the championship! Wish I could attend!! I also just realized that I use exclamation points. A lot. Is it Saturday yet??

Saturday should be a great indicator of the rest of the season!

Are you going to watch Crown practice at your high school later this week? What an honor to have them on your home turf!

And I just realized that my profile picture is from that very trip to DCI Drums of Summer in Broken Arrow last year.

Ha, we did the exact same thing last summer. I was sitting in my recliner reading band stuff online as usual when I saw that there were still tickets available for the next day in Broken Arrow. I hollered up the stairs to my kid and asked her if she wanted to go on an impromptu road trip early the next morning. She was all for it, so I bought some hot seat tickets in the bleachers out in the blazing sun, and off we went. It was a long drive from Cedar Park to Tulsa, but so worth it. We had a blast! Hopefully we will run into you in the Dome this Saturday.

I’m watching the Midwestern Championship right now and just saw the Music City drum corps for the first time. They did a fantastic job and really seem to be doing well on their move from Open Class to World Class. Being a Tennessee girl, I especially enjoyed their Casey Jones theme. And our own Jeremiah Wooten is the head drum major. Great job Jeremiah! Loved it!

Joking aside, I’m sure Hebron and FloMo will battle it out for first in their area. And there’s a good chance one of them will take 6A state as well. If a Leander ISD band doesn’t win, I’m rooting for Hebron! Our fellow royal blue LISD band.

Last time I checked, Lewisville wasn’t the only powerful LISD.

I haven’t seen anyone hating on Bloo. At least not in here. I thiink some of us just don’t prefer their style, but there’s no doubt that they are great. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the big guys live in San Antonio. It’s very different live. There are just so many things you miss watching it online. I’m sure I will love Bloo after the 21st!

I only caught Crown on FloMarching at the end last night and thought they were fantastic. I didn’t realize it was on until it was almost over. I really want to see the Scouts perform. I’m partial to Crown as well, but for different reasons. I hope they can pull ahead this summer and win it all! I’m really looking forward to seeing them all live in July at the Alamodome!
