  1. Can’t wait for San Antonio to fall on the same day as 6A area in 2021.
  2. I would imagine the Rouse team wants a couple more years to cook and that the Glenn team wants to get some BOA hardware before they make the trip.
  3. Yeah I knew the cutoff would rise, but didn’t know it would rise to the point where 6A would have the fewest schools it’s had in at least a decade or two...
  4. I imagine Leander, Cedar Park, and Rouse are all going to skip Area, as if I’m not mistaken, Region 32 was one of the few regions that voted down the proposal. Should be good to see what they all do.
  5. For football yes. I don't think band is going to change. Everything is pretty stable right now in the top classes.
  6. 6A is 2220. Leander back down to 5A. Highland Park safe. 6A is only 249 schools last year. If they stayed with 252, Highland Park would have stayed in...
  7. Highland Park came in too high this year. They’ll very very likely be in 6A.
  8. I’m going to be tickled pink when (and I mean when) they make it back into Houston finals.
  9. Cedar Ridge and East View also opened in a staggered way, so it seems to be the preferred way for schools to open across the metro area.
  10. I've already started hearing buzz about some school districts that will not be participating in 2021 if there's a date conflict, unfortunately for us. Do we know if any schools already know they won't be at BOA San Antonio next year?
  11. I have to say I’m a BIG fan of the no shako trend. It certainly helps the visual captions and the expression on the performer’s faces are priceless.
  12. Not only is Vandegrift I believe the first first time champion since Tate at the first BOA (a Rocky Mount ‘83 double check forthcoming), but I think Vandegrift is also the quickest school to become champion post establishment. Not that Reagan and Kennesaw Mountain didn’t try their hardest.
  13. CTJ tonight is Northeast ISD’s first top half appearance since *2005*. Let’s hope CTJ brings it home!
  14. After this trip and last, you can take Round Rock performing on Saturday night in Lucas Oil to the bank. Their pushes have been a great story to prove that the season isn’t over until Chuck announces number 12.
  15. Carmel swept-ish in 2017 in finals and swept for real in finals in 2018. That’s literally it.
  16. Fun fact: the only two Texas bands to have ever won visual in semifinals in the highest class have both had dance teams and not guards.
  17. Gonna double down that one school district is taking home two medals tonight at the rate we’re going. Which two...
