  1. No, I don't but I remember somebody complaining when this site first opened that there was a picture of Owasso standing next to what he/she thought was Richland. It was actually Hebron. How did I actually remember that?
  2. Yes, UIL is a different contest than BOA. This still doesn't stop Bell from doing very well at UIL contests. 2004 State Champs, 2002 2nd place, 2000 State Champs. To say that Bell is a BOA band is false.
  3. Well, maybe Marcus was an underdog three years ago, but starting last year, you guys are easily one of the best bands in the state. I foresee a battle to the death between Bell and Marcus for state champion this year.
  4. Haha I agree with that. Sax Lix and Just for Show are ALWAYS played. Try looking at the Dubois Quator.... I think that's what it's called. It's been years since I've played it. I love that quartet.
  5. Just compared to last year's competition. I believe there were 58 bands last year. True, 40 bands at a competition is quite a number, but compared to past years of this competition, it pales in comparison.
  6. hey hey hey!
  7. Hmm... My picks for advancing go to Marcus, Hebron, Bell, Richland, and Haltom. Even so, Plano East, Martin, and Wylie could easily upset any of those bands. It's going to be crazy exciting seeing everyone's A game at the same competition. Really, though, I think the only bands that have a SURE shot at advancing are Marcus and Bell. The combinations for the next three bands could go 1000 ways and it would STILL represent Area B very well.
  8. Pretty much exactly how it said. If a band receives, say, a 3, 2, 8 in music and a 3, 11 in finals but ends up in 6th place with only 5 advancing bands, said band would also advance.
  9. No, I don't have it. I've got a bunch of sax solo recordings, though. I'm a little lacking in the ensemble department.
  10. Ah, you're right. I didn't read all of the little tidbits about italics and bolds and stuff. And, Plano East was on the list but I just missed see their name. Well, there goes both of my questions.
  11. Man, talk about a bloodbath. Is it only an 8 band finals competition? And what happened to Plano East?

  13. Wow. That sucks that only 3 might advance. Let's hope Region 23 gets seven 1's. It'd be a shame to see only three of those very fine bands get to state.
  14. Area B has a long list of contenders. LD Bell, Richland, Haltom, Hebron, Martin, Marcus, Newman Smith, Plano East, Lewisville, among many others that I can't remember off the top of my head. It's going to be a bloodbath. I love it. I'm definitely going to be at the finals that night.
  15. Ah, I see. Thanks for the clearing up, Xenon. You wouldn't by chance have a list of bands advancing to each Area, would you? I know that's quite a task.
  16. I have 2 questions. 1. The Regions with no number of area participants. Does that mean they didn't advance any bands or does it mean we don't have the figures for it yet? 2. In Area B, there are at least 25 bands at Area. Doesn't that mean 5 bands advance?
  17. Sax Lix... By Frackenpohl, I believe? I think I used to have a recording, but it might've disappeared.
  18. That's actually better than years past. I believe last year there were about 20 potential finalists and only 14 advanced. It was crazy.
  19. Oh, are you lucky, indeed. I have multiple recordings, one of which I am playing in. Drop me a message on AIM.
  20. Graduated from Hebron High School in Carrollton. Currently at University of North Texas.
  21. Uh, are you talking about Marcus's uniforms? Because there aren't any pictures of Hebron's on here.
  22. I really, really like Reagan's new unis. I also really like Marcus's ones but nobody has posted pictures of theirs. I thought it gave something different than the typical all black marchin bands of Texas.
  23. Please, take it from an alum and a person who's been on the forums for a while and don't fish for comments.
  24. You know, I've always wanted to try a Yanagisawa alto. My brother purchased a baby alto a few years back and man, that thing is amazing. The tone on that little soprano is excellent. Also, it's pretty cool playing an 18 inch saxophone.
  25. Man, I definitely can't wait until Area B Finals. It's going to be crazy. That's one of the competitions I'm most excited about besides the San Antonio Super Regional. Oh, I hope a lot of bands make it to Area because it'd be a shame to see only three of those bands advance to state.
