  1. Marcus- Pivet- AMAZING PRESHOW! Love the hits! Great formation and the techniques are Great! Also, amazing job to the flutes! The woodwinds section sounds really good! Great balance from the Band and the hit in movement 2 sounded AMAZING! The brass moment was welcome with another amazing hit! Movement 3 sounded SO GOOD! The clarinet solo sounded great and the addition of a mellaphone to make it a duet made this moment so much better! Movement 4 had great music and I am really glad to have been able to witness their show! The final moment was AMAZING! Overall, AMAZING PERFORMANCE from the Marcus HS Band!
  2. V.R. Eaton: Wonderful World- WOW! First the solo, then the Percussion hit, and now a trombone quartet! Love the first hit! Was hoping it would be a bigger hit. Alright, this show is starting to become one of my favorites! The colorguard got their own little pary to, which was really cool! Balance is almost there, but some instruments still stand out. I Really love the use of the Song, What a Wonderful World! The French Horn solo was great and the flute + Saxophone quartet was really good! Movement 3 is SO GOOD! Love the music in Movement 4 as well! YES TO THE TUBA SOLO! GREAT HIT from the brass towards the end! Awesome job to the clarinet solo! Overall, Awesome performance from V.R. Eaton!
  3. Plano West Senior: The Tank- Always cool to see colorguard have a feature of their own! Nice job to the flutes, I could hear them playing front field and back field! The soundboard stuff sounds nice as always, but the bubble drops that it has never seemed right to me. Great technique from the Band! No one seems to be over powering. Seemed to drag a bit in movement 2. The trombone and trumpet duet sounds really good! Great marching techniques in movement 3! Great balance all around! Can hear every instrument! The Jaws theme in this show is still one of my favorite parts from this year! Movement 4 is probably my favorite music from their show! Awesome job on the final hit! Overall, great performance from Plano West Senior!
  4. Wylie East: Re: Imagine Still one if my FAVORITE Preshows! AMAZING First Hit! Great Brass Technique and great job to woodwinds! Good job on hitting the sets. It felt like the woodwinds dragged a bit in their feature. Great job to the Brass! Trombones seem to be overpowering a bit. AMAZING JOB on the 2nd Movement! Great job on the Trumpet solo! MOVEMENT 3 GREAT AS ALWAYS! The emotions given from the students makes this show even better! Trombone solo with Percussion sounds great! Movement 4 sounds AWESOME! All the hits sound great and their techniques are great! Saw a set mess up towards the end. Great ending to their show!!! Overall, amazing performance!!!! Also they got a standing ovation!
  5. Royse City- Piece by Piece- WOW! That first solo at the very beginning is BEAUTIFUL! Great first hit!!! Trumpets do over power, but overall they have great tone and technique! Great moments for both woodwinds and Brass! Also can hear the tubas all the way from the back! In the trombone solo, seemed to be an issue on some of the notes, but Great job overall! Also movement 3 is really good! Amazing job on the tone and techniques! Great use of the field and I really enjoyed the music! Great job at the end, but the tubas seemed to overpower. Overall, great job to Royse City HS!
  6. Mesquite: Arches- LOVE THE percussions first hits! With only 1 Tuba, I love that I can hear them! Feels like there is no hits...LET ME TAKE THAT BACK 😆. Feels like brass is overpowering though. Clarinets are the only woodwinds I can hear at the moment. Marching techniques need to be worked on though. The woodwind feature sounds really good! Great job to the saxophone soloist! Felt like I did hear some out of tune players in the brass, but I'm still liking the performance! Good hit on the third movement! Really enjoying the Percussion features in this show! Mesquite with the "jumpy" music! I like that! For how small their band is, they are doing very well! Overall, good job to the Mesquite HS Band!
  7. Rockwall-Heath: The Fortune Teller- Great first hit! Love the intro. Good forms and great job on tone. Wish I could hear the flutes, but great job to woodwinds on the hits! Brass sounds awesome! They do need to work on their flutter runs though, and the Euphonium solo with the woodwinds playing sounds great! I really liked the third movement, great emotion! The beginning to the fourth movement is great! Also love the flute solo! Great tone! Great job to the tubas for playing loud and bot overpowering! Overall, AMAZING JOB!!! Awesome way to start the contest!
  8. Rockwall-Heath has taken the field!
  9. That sucks, glad to see someone helped you out. I legit just brought a blanket and am sitting on it. Hope to see you at Finals for Area C!
  10. Alright so here is the actual schedule today. So the first session groups will be 45 minutes later than they were scheduled. The lunch break is shortened to 30 minutes, and the second half of Prelims will be as is. Sorry for the constant corrections.
  11. 30 minutes until Rockwall-Heath performs! Also, wrong image for today 😆. They have UIL Region 3 contest instead of UIL 6A Area C contest
  12. Correction, All bands will be delayed. They are going on a 45 minute interval for each block
  13. All bands will be delayed for the first block. Rockwall-Heath is beginning at 9:00 AM
  14. I have arrived at the stadium! Will be heading in soon
  15. Got my setup ready for tomorrow! If anyone is at the contest watching and wants to hangout, I'll be sitting towards the top of the stadium near the middle :). Goodluck to all Students, Parents, and Directors tomorrow! We will be starting bright and early with Rockwall-Heath, so make sure your there to see them!
  16. I have officially bought my ticket for tomorrow !
  17. Normally they do forgive those issues. When I went to Area in 2018, it was very hot that our soundboard was malfunctioning. We still got 3rd in Prelims though!
  18. That would make sense to, especially if Prelims can be done, but not Finals
  19. So if they do, the whole contest would be moved to the rain delay day. It shouldn't affect the contest tomorrow, but if it does, they will move everything. If all bands went and there was a weather concern, then if I'm correct, Prelims would stand as the Final results.
  20. I'm staying with Area C, and I'm recording all of Prelims, so it will be on YouTube the day after the contest
