But congrats to all! Happy to see some new faces in finals (first time or was out last couple cycles ) It's probably the hardest 5A area, so I guess seeing stuff like this happen kind of makes sense, it's just so many large changes from prelims to finals

I am so confused right now??? Lovejoy went from 5th to 9th, Argyle 10th to 4th???? And Centennial 8th? Idk there has been something about this area for the last few years that doesn't add up. All my friends at Lojo were saying their best run yet and the get 9th. Something needs to change.

YES! They sounded outstanding and it's such a cool show with tons of GE and they look and sound amazing! This could be a huge dark horse at nats this year

I have been watching the super regional as well, and this would be my personal rankings of the big 4 1st Avon: Wow, just wow. I'm thinking they sweep captions here but I wasn't able to pay to much attention to Blue Springs visually 2nd/3rd: I could see BS or WM getting second or third. I think both did amazing and i'm excited to see what happends 4th: Carmel: Idk this show just didn't do it for me. It was clean but I feel like the other 3 were more clean and complex, but I may be wrong.

okay. But you see, Area F apparently did reverse prelims placement for finals, and if you look at area C, Forney defiantly won prelims, and yet they are going first. Yes I could be wrong, but I don't know it's just seeming to add up all to easy imo

okay everyone, I have come to the conclusion that this year, at least for 5A, they are doing prelims placement are reverse prelims placement. If you look at this area and area C, it kind of makes sense. The best bands are going towards the front (what everyone considers the best is somewhat different, but the general considered best bands are going earlier). For area F however, it seems like they did reverse prelims results for finals schedule. This is very interesting... lots of new changes that I don't remember being informed about, not a complaint just interesting.

Yes! It’s something that’s been needs and it’s possible these are the same sheets with just more in depth scores and all but it’s a nice change !

It seems that the scoring sheets have changed for area!!! They now have scores for captions!!! For music it’s: Ensemble, Woodwinds, brass, percussion and content For visual its: individual, ensemble and content. still 5 judges(3 music, 2 visual), and each are judging each sub-caption. Love this change and hopefully things balance out more

Yeah this makes more sense. I don’t believe Summit got 9th. Maybe not too half but they are better than 9th. And I never heard anything about it being changed nor think they did.

Oh wow okay then. Are you sure? Normally for UIL it’s random draw but I guess not at this one.

That is not their placement. Azle has had a very successful season so far, but the schedule for finals is all random draw.

No that’s only for BOA and some local contest. UIL is all random draw.

The schedule isn’t reverse prelims placement, it’s random draw. Richland could be in any place for all we know or any other band. The prelims placement aren’t revealed till after finals. It’s gets confusing but it’s all random draw

Wow congratulations to Memorial! And Argyle, and independence! Two first time finals(Argyle only bc first year as 5A), and memorial. No reedy after 2 years of them, as well as heritage after many years of them making it to finals. Congratulations to all! Finals will be great for sure!

I got word from a friend that the first half of prelims is(might be the wrong order and this is performance order not rankings!!! 1st: Lonestar/Lebanon 2nd: Lonestar/Lebanon 3rd: The Colony 4th: Centennial 5th: Lovejoy again, not rankings just what I'm pretty sure it is but we will have it soon I'd imagine, but I can confirm the are the first five bands to perform tonight

pretty much my list, although I'd have Wylie East, Prosper and Rock Hill all up one and probably Sachse to and then Rockwall. Rockwall has a great show but they have yet to beat any of these groups, especially Wylie East and Prosper, who were both way ahead of them last weekend at boa North Texas. And yes, it is UIL but I think they are still significantly ahead of Rockwall
