  1. It would seem Frisco Liberty is also going to be going to this one, so once again updating predictions
  2. Yeah! I always forgot one or two, you think you know them all and then there’s always one more 😅 Ig we could say RR 21, didn’t make finals but still did all 3 which is enough on its own, seems like they will be this year as well, and whoever else does
  3. Lovejoy is officially on the participation list. With that being said, here are my early predictions for this comp! I think Bell is going to have a really strong season, but we’ll see how they do at dfw. I’m keeping Mustang off for now as it’s been said they won’t be attending this comp anymore and only Midland, but I’ll change my preds if needed when the schedule is released. Will do another set sometime the week of, but I think it will look something like this: 1st: Keller(music/GE) 2nd: L.D. Bell(visual) 3rd: Wakeland 4th: Waxahachie 5th: Timber Creek 6th: Prosper 7th: Southlake Carroll 8th: Robert E Hendrickson 9th: Duncanville 10th: Rock Hill 11th: Forney 12th: Keller Central A champion: Whitesboro(caption sweep) AA champion: Lovejoy(caption sweep) 2nd: Grapevine 3rd: Poteet AAA champion: Wakeland(caption sweep) 2nd: Forney 3rd: Mckinney North AAAA champion: Keller(music/GE) 2nd: L.D. Bell(visual) 3rd: Waxahachie This comp is beyond stacked, and many bands who “deserve finals” won’t make it, hopefully there’s some shakeup, but it will be one for the books, that’s for sure! I could easily see many other bands taking 10th-12th, just basing these off the end of last season. It’s gonna be a heck of a battle to get into finals, and this is probably the comp I’m looking forward to the most.
  4. Yeah, but last year it was done by the NFHS or whatever and it was awful! Of course it’s better then nothing, but they should have just stuck with box5
  5. I’ve been praying since state finals that it’s on Box5 or Flo!
  6. welp, we have your 2023 Melissa Marching showcase champion right there lol, let me just change my preds real quick. Do you know why Little Elm was cancelled? Ik historically it wasn't always the most stacked comp but it still tended to draw in some really good bands like Lone Star, Centennial, MN last year. maybe just not enough people singed up for it to be reasonable to have the comp.
  7. It will be on flo again this year 🥳
  8. Here’s Wakelands first performance!
  9. According to the BOA website, it looks like finals will begin at 7, with the first band in finals starting at 7:30
  10. I really hope so! I’d love for a band like Lake Ridge to make it in, or maybe Like Highlands. Hoping and predicting that we will see SLC back at state
  11. I’m really hoping North Shore can make it back to state! They also have very well design shows, and they are coming out strong this year! I’d say TW will win unless someone somehow manages to pass them
  12. It’s nice to hear the Crown 2019 opener again, and Argyle played it every well. However, and maybe it’s just me, their brass seems to be struggling a little, but ofc it’s super hot and they will clean it up. Excited to see how this one turns out! Melissa sounds really good, but I feel like the need to add more variety in their opener, especially if where they stopped is where they go into the ballad. I just feel like we’re hearing the same thing for however long it was, hopefully they do something, but it was just brass heavy paint it black for like 3 minutes.
  13. Edit: Well with the edition of Lone Star, I don't see anyone else beating them. I wonder how else may be coming here now that Little Elm got canceled. I'd love to see the whole lineup come here, I know that Golden Triangle in Denton is also on this day, but it's now even better. New Preds: 1st: Lone Star (caption sweep) 2nd: W.E. Boswell 3rd: Frisco Liberty 4th: Rowlett 5th: Princeton 6th: Celina 7th: Lakeview Centennial 8th: Anna 9th: Canton 10th: Sulpher Springs 11th: China Springs 12th: A lot of bands 2A champion: Rivercrest 3A champion: Mineola 4A champion: Celina 5A champion: Lone Star 6A champion: Boswell The real fight will be for the last couple of spots for finals. I could possibly see Mineola taking it, but it won’t be easy too. Probably will be another top 4A band unless Naaman Forest shows up, don’t know anything about the program but being a 6A bands at comps like this seems to help most of the time, so I could also see them take it. should be a very good competition! C
  14. Doesn’t look like Legacy has anything on this day, and GP’s calendar isn’t public, but I’d say it’s most likely safe to say the already confirmed bands will most likely be all the ones in attendance this year unless there are some late joiners
  15. Both of them were incredible! Loved the music from both a lot and Regan once again has some very difficult and intriguing drill, and I’m very excited to see the finished product.
  16. TYSM!!! Was looking for these 2 forever last night!
  17. I agree, JBA definitely doesn’t sound as strong off the back, but they most likely will clean up, but I wouldn’t say first is theirs for sure at the moment
  18. HOLY COW!! They sound incredible! I’m not a huge fan of them having the battery play during the woodwind feature, but they sound dangerous, could definitely see them wining the Conroe comp this year
  19. Great performance from Lake Ridge! Cant wait to see this live
  20. Alright, so tonight we've got Weiss, Round Rock, and Westwood, and Cedar Ridge. Sadly, the stream showing CP and CR muted the beginning of Cedar Park, and the video kept lagging, but thankfully they unmuted for the ballad, but showed none of Cedar Park. Of course, as always, how loud the bands are here aren't actually always that loud and normally get gigga turned up, but regardless, I'm taking into consideration what I here. Weiss: Really love the visual book! Some rough sounds in the brass but in this heat, especially in Austin area it's not unexpected. I LOVE the sextet, and again they have some really cool moments in the drill! Also loving the dark sounds/music coming from the band, very big fan of that. Once they clean up, I think they could turn some heads. Should be a good season for Weiss. Round Rock: For the drill that was on the field, it was pretty dang clean for this early in the season. I love they two little groups playing backfield while the band does some body work, and the music definitely works very very well with the theme! They are definitely building off last seasons successes, and I can see them going big places this season! Great first performance rock band! Cedar Ridge: From what I saw and heard, ummmmm, WOW!!! They definitely will be once again at the top of all the comps they attend. Look and sound so freaking good already, and I'm SO excited to see how they do this season. ` Westwood: Some really great sounds, and love the visual book! The woodwinds are nailing their features, and the drill is going to look really nice when it's all cleaned up. Another great performance from one of our Austin bands!
  21. Lake ridge is confirmed per their calendar
