I will say that I believe that they have a larger band this year than they did last year, and last year they made San Antonio and State finals, so I don't think the size will be too much of an issue for them.

As the title says, what's the most risky or mature show/movement a high school has put on field? I don't just mean in terms of like shock value, I also mean stuff like the Plymouth Canton in the 1990s and early 2000s, with shows that had some level of a look at social standards and a bit of a of parody of those standards. I'm especially interested to see if there's anything more modern that contains something like that.

In 2016, Cedar Ridge's show "Stellar" was based on the work of the minimalist painter Frank Stella. Since it was called Stellar, people just thought it was about space, and since Frank Stella isn't exactly a household name, a lot of the references to his art in the drill and props didn't resonate with the audience as well. I loved marching that show, it was so fun. I think it counts as pretty esoteric.

As far as shows to introduce people to DCI, the two shows listed above by lost are great ones, and although it's very early season, I'd add Bluecoats show from this year, it's SUPER accessible, The Beatles pretty much the most famous band of all time, so people are probably going to recognize at least one song. The show is also really fun and high energy, and people love to see other people having fun. For how to describe DCI to others, I pretty call it Major League Marching. I'll sometimes add that 21 is the maximum age, which often impresses a lot of people that I'll show DCI content to.

I really liked their show this past year, it had a lot of cool, really well-played music, and good use of props, and was overall a delight to watch. That mic'ed up auto-tuned(ish?) snare was great, and reminded me of BK 2017. If their show this year is anywhere near as entertaining, then they're probably gonna be another one of my favorites.

Outside of band, I do Graphic Design, and dabble in photography and video work! Funnily enough, I often find myself doing both for band more often than not. I also really enjoy Marvel, both comics and movies, and Godzilla/Kaiju in general. My favorite movie is a Japanese animated film called 'Your Name.', which is where my profile picture on this site comes from. I'm sure there's plenty I'm forgetting, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to say some stuff! I've put together a quite a few for the band I was a part of, but they were meant to be for the band only, and I never got the permission to upload them until after the season, which is when most people stop caring about that kind of stuff. I imagine that's probably more common than the videos being publicly available from the get-go. Makes me kinda sad cause I put a lot of work into some of those videos :')

In all honesty, we've seen people gang up on shows before, just to eliminate something, not from a position of being against that show, but just pro another one. I just think it's part of how the game works.

Not entirely sure on specifics, but Round Rock's production is called A Simple Gesture. Saw there might be something to do with mimes? Honestly seems like it could be a ton of fun.

I've heard a certain band in the Round Rock/Pflugerville area is going to have a full field tarp, in the vein of O'Fallon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that he was very much against his music being changed/adapted for the field, and in general, but he made rare exceptions, i.e. Bixby 2016 & Avon 2017. But unfortunately, he recently passed, meaning his music is easier to get the rights to for the field.
