Actually I think it would be fantastic if they did! Oklahoma has some heavy hitters and we already saw how good Bentonville (AR) was last season. And the Oklahoma and Arkansas kids I’ve spoken to would be absolutely thrilled to compete with some Texas bands somewhere besides Texas and Indiana!

We’ve been pushing for this for years on HornRank! Heck, just a freakin Regional would be amazing! Between Oklahoma and Arkansas bands alone, it would make for an outstanding Regional!

Kelly Reeves has been confirmed as the venue. Now we’re waiting for the date to be confirmed. For now they’re tentatively saying it will be 9/21.

I love the hotels that are connected to the convention center for sure. They are definitely pricey though. Check out Springhill Suites behind the JW Marriott for a little better price but still mostly an indoor walk to Lucas Oil. Wonderful hotel!

Yes, since their inception, both BOA Austin and the Texas Marching Classic have been held at Kelly Reeves. I’m guessing that they are doing their best to continue this trend but have not yet nailed down the dates.

I remember that so well! I had left the Alamodome as soon as prelims ended so I could jump back in line for finals and grab a good seat. I’ll never forget seeing the Round Rock band kids running out of the stadium in the doors beside where I was standing, and they were absolutely and literally jumping in the air for joy! It was powerful to see how ecstatic they were and everyone around me was as touched and moved as I was by the pure emotion of it all. I definitely cried a little bit watching that! So happy for those kids. ♥️♥️

They did handle it quite well indeed! 😍 It was an exciting time to be a part of the program for sure, but I’m happy for them to remain 5A a few more years. There’s growth in the school coming though, and I feel like they will be 6A again very soon.

Yes Leander was 6A that year and literally drove straight from state finals Wednesday afternoon to the Austin airport where they boarded late night flights to Indy! It was a lot and we had several kids get injured that week. They were exhausted from BOA SA, UIL and then GN all in a week’s time! 🥴
