  1. Honesty the only thing Cedar Ridge and Haltom have a chance of doing is taking the music caption. Tarpon's guard and visual program is one of the strongest in the country and I think that'll keep them on top.
  2. Correct, but at that time I believe it was a 12 band finals, so Bowie technically would have been a finalist in the current format.
  3. Me too, but Flomarching is not to blame. In fact their rigorous removal of such videos is saving the marching arts from one destructive lawsuit from Tresona.
  4. Same way all other people get away with crimes. They haven't been caught. Unfortunately it's only a matter of time before those videos are taken down.
  5. Highest score at any non-grand nats event. That score is even crazier when you realize Marcus was about 2 points ahead of the Grand National Champion.
  6. Ouch. Round Rock had a higher score at Austin. Honestly a pretty big bummer, I thought they were doing so well.
  7. Agreed. Also not sure why growth of a band should be considered even if it might be true. That should only matter for their contest predictions. Why should a group beat another on week 3 for potential growth? If that is the case rank them accordingly when that time comes.
  8. Because they won the last two years. When predicting without knowing much people tend to go off past results.
  9. Except most of those heavy hitters will also be at San Antonio. I'd argue that Hebron and CTJ are just as strong a group as Carmel this year. Broken Arrow is pretty much the only strong point for why Grand Nats would be harder.
  10. If that happens San Antonio really will be harder than Grand Nationals as Avon has consistently been a medalist for quite some time.
  11. Hope the Flower Mound kids aren't discouraged by not winning as they definitely shouldn't be. They have an incredible vehicle to take to indy. It was still pretty suprising just how clean Hebron was this early. Wouldn't suprise me if these two are the top two groups music wise this year.
  12. Would love to see that happen. They were SO close in 2013. Happy to see Texas isn't going to let Avon push them around at San Antonio.
  13. Really? I know Timber Creek did well, but competing for third? I must have watched something different.
  14. I got 10/10. Not sure why people were discounting Churchill.
  15. Round Rock has a long history with the Westlake Marching Contest. They actually have a tradition they do at the contest with pennies. It's not their fault groups like Bowie, Cedar Park, and Hendrickson that could provide competition stopped going.
  16. Not to mention Round Rock out of finals lol
  17. As crazy and unlikely as that sounds, Flower Mound did go from 13th to 1st in a year so you never know. But yeah it most likely won't happen.
  18. In my opinion developing a visual program thats more challenging and varied while remaining the cleanliness we saw in 2016. They may have won the visual award in Texas but I don't think that would have been the case if theyd gone to Nats. I think that should be their goal if they wish to be on top of BA and Avon and take the eagle home, which I'm certain it is.
  19. That's not really a fair comparison as Texas rarely sends our strongest group to Nationals while Avon and Carmel are always there. I'm fairly confident LD Bell (2011), Marcus and The Woodlands (2012), Hebron (2013), CTJ (2014), and Flower Mound (2015 & 2016) would have been medalists had they gone to nationals.
