I thought they were on fire yesterday. More closer to 2015 than 2016 in terms of design and performance but I don't think they'll medal.

Oh me too. I was remarking particularly on their visual program.

It's so surreal to have Avon in the alamo dome. Seeing them here makes me realize why Texas bands can never win the visual caption at Nats. Crazy amount of difficulty achieved at such a high level. This performance in particular was very emotional. Anyone who is counting them out of the gold is foolish.

Hebron should win a award for their field entrance.

Simply put, yup. I think the trumpet soloist has had better performances though. Hope to see him kill it in finals.

Johnson is performing at a incredible level, those kids have complete control of that show. Thought the performance was a little nervous though and noticed a bit of individual hiccups. With a more focused performance in finals they'll easily contend for the title. Way to go CTJ!

I didn't really feel the show at Conroe, but wow it is something spectacular. Really not regretting putting them 5th in my predictions right now.

Disagree, I think Hebron has better balance than Avon at this point and their book is just out of this world difficult, although you would never know based on how well they play it. CTJ is pumping out some amazing sounds too. They might not win the caption, but Marcus and Vandegrift should place very high in music. Visual will most likely be Avon's, could maybe see Claudia Taylor snag it. One of the most difficult visual programs in Texas and they've had tons of time to clean it. GE is as predictable as the lottery at this point. Hebron will probably kill it in music, but will fall behind in visual. I think Flower Mound and CTJ have the best overall chance for this one.

I was a senior that year at Round Rock, and that was easily the most stressful San Antonio Super Regional I've been to. I remember being so worried about the rain and wanting to perform so bad. It was such a shame to see a group like Hendrickson not being able to perform, as that show was amazing and would have been a finalist. I cheered extra hard when they made it last year.

Yup, clearly people who have no idea what marching band is and what viewers want to see in a show. People want to hear a soloist, not look at them for 30 seconds.

Helps bands on the field and keeps time, makes note of any penalties. That sort of thing.

Umm wow Wando! I thought that was an incredible performance, and could even take the gold.

I think his point is UIL is crazy and anything can happen. Also Cedar Park is one of the best bands at bringing the heat when it matters.

After what happened to Hendrickson in 2014 I'll count the chickens once they've hatched.

They're definitely up there, but they have some cleaning to do. History has shown they're pretty good at that.

Umm best brass section in the country? Have you heard Hebron this year? I know Matt Harloff is a brass god, but I think there are groups just as good (if not better).

He means that hornrank isn't judging the competition, and whether a band is good or not isn't dependent on one website.

I say no. If this is the future of marching band, then what's the point of wgi winds? At that point the only real difference is what time of the year it happens.

Something something don't compare scores. But yeah not exactly the point spread over Blue Springs BA was hoping for. Can't say I'm outraged, I definitely prefer Flower Mound, Avon, and Carmel this year.

Not trying to bring you down. If anything the competition should inspire you to do your best. You guys are absolutely capable of being in finals; practice hard and prove it on the field!

How have you proven that? Because you placed 6th at Austin? Texas is a crazy state and almost nothing is guaranteed.
