BOA is not an advancement type ordeal like UIL. If you pay to be in the competition, you get a spot considering there are spots available.

Hahaha! Yeah no ones beating that. That was the best performance I've ever seen. You know which band Im talking about.

Oh BOA San Antonio, you never cease to surprise...

Vandegrift and Claudia Taylor Johnson were very interesting to watch back to back. Night and day in terms of style. CTJ definitely aimed to peak at Nats, I'm curious to see where the judges place them. And Vandegrift was "On Point"

Hendricksons trombones are easily my favorite soloists this year.

Personally really enjoyed Dripping Springs. Some great bands arent going to be in finals
-
My feed was fine, they were as good as I expected them to be. Definitely the wild card for a top 5 placement.
-
Solid run from my Alma Mater, easy finalist. Although the music and visual in the stream was off for about two counts the whole show, which was kinda distracting.

Cedar Ridge has improved, but I'm not so certain of their show. Really enjoyed Westlake, they sounded great. Glad to see them back in the running for finals.

Im pretty sure Round Rock is about 400 overall. 250 in the varsity though. -
2016 6A State Predictions

Nope. They are extraordinarily clean this year and the only band imo that can take a medal from Lewisville ISD at state. Frankly I thought prelims was a more accurate representation of the gap between Vandegrift and Leander. But then again I also think Leander will overtake Vandy at BOA San Antonio. Their show styles are very different but both very good in their own ways. -

Thirded. If that's a word. -
The show is pretty spectacular from a visual stand point, just breath taking to watch. However I agree the wind book is missing something, a strength that I believe Flower Mound has over Reagan right now (and last year as well). It reminds me of Broken Arrows 2011 show, but they ended up winning Nationals so I think Reagan is in great shape overall. Besides I haven't been too impressed with Tarpon, Avon, and William Mason this year. It's a shame the two shows that scream to me champion aren't going to Grand Nats (Flower Mound and Broken Arrow).

I'd never thought Id hear someone say they wanted Hebron, Marcus, and Flower Mound to play MORE than they already do -
I'd say bigger ouches for Hendrickson and Westlake, who are on the bubble of making finals as where Hebron and Reagan are pretty much locks.

Me either. In fact I don't think there will be any.

Bowie and Round Rock were on their game. Some prop mishap for Round Rock but it wasn't a big deal. Hendrickson was also very impressive, expect to see them advance. -
While I'm sure it's a coincidence, it's nice to see Leander going second to last after what happened last year. Also excited to see how Hendrickson does here. I could easily see them in Finals.

BOA Plano - October 8th

It's stuff like this that always makes me wonder just how good Texas bands would be without any restrictions. Of course I think the restriction makes efficiency a staple in Texas marching bands which is a great lesson to be learned. Not that bands like Tarpon or Broken Arrow dont take their rehearsals seriously. -
Hebron's Uniform
Nny14 replied to Nny14's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Just got an answer. They will be returning for the San Antonio competitions which is great, thought the style was very fitting for hebron. I always used to get leander and hebron confused before. -
What happened to the Uniforms Hebron had at nationals? Anybody in the know that can clarify on this. Are they scrapped or perhaps being saved for San Antonio and/or State?
