  1. True but he was back with them last year too and no medal. They certainly have a chance but those top 3 are insane.
  2. Round Rock High School: Tryptic
  3. Looking at some videos I was very impressed with Vandegrift musical performance. Haven't seen it in action along with other groups performances so well see. It'll be interesting to see how Vandegrift and Round Rock match up to the three going to Nationals as they don't have to play the long game. These will probably change a bit the day going into the competition. 1-3: Cedar Park Claudia Taylor Johnson Round Rock 4-5: Leander Vandegrift 6-8: Cedar Ridge Hendrickson Vista Ridge 9-12: Dripping Springs Westwood Westlake Winston Churchill Music: Cedar Park Round Rock Vandegrift Visual: Claudia Taylor Johnson Round Rock GE: Claudia Taylor Johnson Leander Round Rock
  4. Coming from the band that heard Hebrons music warm up, their playing was absolutely, horrifyingly good. I was honestly expecting a perfect music score. I don't think Flower Mound would have been able to keep with their music scores, but maybe could have done better visually.
  5. No, 1300 is the Nats trip. We pay an entirely separate band fee.
  6. I knew Vandegrift would bring it back! Not surprising considering their rise from area in 2013.
  7. As far as I know only us and Broken Arrow have one thats main focus is football games.
  8. For sure? No. District will decide at 7 in the morning if itll be clear. 4:15 will only happen with their say so. As of football game concerns we'll just have our JV attend as to not have an absence.
  9. As long as the district gives us the clear it appears Round Rock will perform at 4:15.
  10. Agreed, this isn't a scenario anyone wanted in the first place. There are just little things that are frustrating (for everyone involved). I could care less about waking up at 2 in the morning, it's when crazy storms are involved that driving at that time becomes dangerous.
  11. "Music for All will be a catalyst to ensure that every child across America has access and opportunity to participate in active music making in his or her scholastic environment. We will use our resources to provide national programs that recognize and support music students' performance and success, offer music educator training and professional development, and deliver tools and resources to participants and their communities that will assist them in supporting music education by promoting awareness of music’s impact on student growth and achievement." Straight from music for alls mission statement. Just a little food for thought on this current situation.
  12. Round Rock also has that same problem.
  13. That is correct, we will not be performing tonight.
  14. Round Rock was told our performance will be at 9 if we get the go to leave.
  15. Pretty sure LISD is at a standstill as well. Some of our supply trucks report harsh winds.
  16. Round Rock has not left. Not sure how much longer the delay will be.
  17. Well since our region video is up anyways might as well share a better quality version. Still some mic issues with soloists though
  18. So much for visual being our strong point... Was Round Rock really that behind the other three? What do people think of our show, I've heard very little comments on the overall design of it. Not trying to diss Lewisville ISD, they are fantastic. Just wondering what people think.
  19. Yes. Round Rocks penalty was actually supposed to be a full point, but was halfed as it was the first contest.
  20. Congratulations Leander! We're fine here at Round Rock, we are just honored to perform at such an amazing contest with such amazing groups. This season is gonna be killer for Texas!
  21. Performance wise Bowie is Bowie, just plain great. The concept is probably my least favorite they've done over the past couple of years and the musical selection doesn't particularly grab me, but that's just me. Honestly with some more watches I'll probably come to enjoy it just like their show last year. They're one of the most consistent bands in Texas, if not the country, so I wouldn't bet on them dropping competitively.
  22. That's awesome! Make sure you wear two pairs of socks when you march in it, its really a life saver. Round Rocks gonna have three parts for Austin. Last year was Vista Ridges first time making any BOA event finals.
  23. Agreed on Westwood, their marching and playing at state was BOA San Antonio finals worthy imo. I heard a rumor they have some new designers/arrangers so I'm real excited to see if they break out into the BOA scene.
