MadisonBandMan1
Wait, WHAT????? wow.... How in the world did Marcus steal the music caption from hebron? Uh oh another shake up for San Antonio and now nationals
MadisonBandMan1
Then again it is freezing up there. Wow.
Bandwoww
I think it may have a lot to do with the style of judging. It is very much like Uil. I expect results to be different next weekend...but congratulations Marcus!
Danpod
Very much like a UIL system. From what we're being told, the gap between Hebron and Marcus is minuscule.
MadisonBandMan1
It is still a shakeup for SA though, am I right?
Jackson1
I don’t really think so. Unless you think Marcus improving since Southlake is a surprise. Them winning music at any competition is always a possibility. They’re Marcus and going to Indy this year.
bingogooberman
seems more indicative that Marcus has polished their show significantly since BOA. Hebron will likely still top them at SA but this could signal that Marcus will be competitive for top 5 there and perhaps higher at nationals. KinDallas
Marcus has steadily improved since BoA Southlake and their music is pretty dang hard. I’m sure it was close with Hebron, but Marcus peaks late every year.
Magma31651
Any results yet?
Rubisco
It's not like Marcus has ever really stopped being Marcus. They're still an absolutely fantastic program, and this year more than ever they seem to be challenging themselves. So, it's not impossible that they're simply starting to peak at the right time. Rubisco
Also, I would be cautious when using results from an invitational to predict BOA results. The adjudicators at this contest seem to be a mix of BOA adjudicators (like Gino Cipriani, who will be judging at Nationals this year) and other, more UIL-oriented people. Xenon
Finals Results: 1) Hebron 2) Marcus 3) Keller 4) Wylie 5) McKinney Boyd 6) Berkner 7) Keller Central 8) Rockwall 9) McKinney 10) Sandra Day O'Connor
bingogooberman
why doesn't keller central ever seem to do as well at local contests as they do at BOA? What isn't translating?
Majellan
Keller Central was outstanding musically tonight but they had some issues on the marching side. I think they should have been placed where they were with the exception that Berkner should've fell behind them. Wylie also brought it tonight so they deserved to be ahead of Central, I didn't see that happening until Wylie played. I still loved Keller Central's show, just seemed like they had some focus issues. Like I said earlier, Berkner should've fell further than they did tonight, had some real tempo issues at times. Berkner sounded like they had some serious issues toward the end of their show.
