Cypress Woods: WOW!!! I see why they've been having such an incredible season because that was CLEAN. Love the opening bodywork with our saber soloist. They do such a great job of showing off their small groups with having the other members posing on the props, really effective. Big flag moment at the end was so in time, soloists were amazing, I mean wow, they are gonna do very well this weekend, can't wait to see that again tomorrow. Just such a well-designed show being executed at such a high level. This group is gonna be going big places these upcoming seasons, amazing job Cy-Woods! Azle- bridge: Thanks for making the trip down Azle! Loved this show at Dallas, and I do even more. Great saber soloist to start us off as they move into some really difficult flag work. Love the white uniforms against the blue flags. The rifle moments are just wow, amazing big flag moment in the end with our incredible rifle soloist showing off throughout as she crosses the bridge to finish the show. Another super talented group, wonderful job Azle, so clean! Cedar Park- The ever-expanding void and all its beauty: The opening dance work with the girls running in a circle around the void adds some really nice GE as we move into an opening saber/flag moment. Great coronation throughout the show, and I really like the brighter blue flags against the black uniforms. Soloists were great all around, and the staging really adds a lot of depth to the show with the different circle formations. So much to enjoy from this show, and that ending is just wow. Another very clean performance, amazing job Cedar Park!

Weiss-A wash of color: Great start to today! Really nice bodywork to open up the show. Really love the different colors throughout the show. I do wish and think, that the show could have been a tad bit harder. It was a very slow show, and the weapon work followed, with very little to get from the show. The flag work was very colorful, and the soloist killed it. The team is super talented and could definitely handle a harder show, but it was still very enjoyable, great job Weiss! Hebron JV- good life: Love the dance work to open up the show. These orange uniforms look so good against the green, black and white tarp as we move into some real impressive flag work. Super talented rifle soloist in the middle of the beautiful flag movement, amazing slag trio after the rife moment as we close out with some more big flag work. These girls aren't far behind the varsity group, super talented. Do wish there was some more tosses all around, but still an amazing job Hebron JV! Clements- harmony in haring: Great opening dance work between our saber and flag duet as we move into some big saber work with flags in the background. Love the city-line tarp, adds a lot of color to the show. My goodness they are really good. A very high demanding show they are absolutely nailing. Love the mixed weapon work in the middle as we move into a big group flag moment that's sooo in time. Soloist were great, amazing design, just wow Clements, really hope we get to see them again tomorrow!

Good morning, everyone! We are here live on Flomarching for the WGI Austin regional. It's gonna be a great day of guard and I'm super excited to see some shows for the first time, as well as some familiar faces. There is a BIG Baylor Basketball game at noon, so I will be multi-tasking during that, but I still plan to cover all the groups during that time. Good luck again to all the guards as we will begin shortly!

Good luck to all the guards tomorrow! I’ve seen clips of TW’s, but I like to have my first view live, so I’m soooo excited for them, gonna be a great weekend of WGI!

Do note that we don’t know about Tarpon Springs yet. They normally come on even years so if they come, Argyle would be fighting for 2nd/3rd, bc no AA band is close to TS at the moment

I do believe so yes. Ik Whitesboro went once but they were class A so I do believe they will be the first AA band from tx, super exciting

Ladies and gentlemen, the 8 time state champion, Argyle high school, is heading to grand nationals!!! A very high chance of being AA champions, and being now the 6th band so for confirmed going to GN’s! They also released their show for this season: A Pictures worth. Seems very cool, and it’s gonna be great watching these kids in Indy, can’t wait Argyle!

I'm really excited for Austin! I'll definitely try to catch some of SoCal finals, but Saturday will be all Austin. And I was thinking the same thing earlier today about Orland, I was really hoping to see Tarpon before Dayton, hopefully a video if put on YouTube or something, either way super pumped for the weekend!

I'm gonna throw out a super bold prediction: Cedar Park will win again 🫣 But in all seriousness, I don't know if there will be a new 5A state champ until Cedar Park gets moved out for one of many possible future reasons. Yes, I know in 15,17 and 19, they didn't win prelims, but Rouse last year has been the closest since Covid, and while they are IMO the band to do it, I just don't see it happening. We know what CP does every year when it comes finals, and NOBODY in the nation can do it like they do. The only possible way I see it happening soon is if they were to somehow get a 2 at region, which just won't happen.

I’m just hoping we get to see some first-timers in finals this year between here and Austin or really any tx regional that might open up a little for the bubble programs bc of this new regional

While the date might not be super optimal, I think this regional has great potential, as mentioned in other forums, to be one for groups that are trying to “get away” from top groups in the area such as the LISD, RR-ISD and the big SA schools in the are, which makes me really happy. I hate when bands aren’t able to make finals at boa regionals simply because the really aren’t a ton of changes as to who ends up making finals each year at the other regionals (not hating on any programs Tx is just so stacked), and will be a great opportunity for those programs that are always so close to finals get that much deserved second performance, and I’m supper excited to see how this comp turns out

Southwest has very high potential IMO. They were a powerhouse while over at Area B, but once they got moved to F, they have struggled a bit. However, I have a good feeling this drop will be very beneficial, as they have dropped in size significantly since Covid, but I expect they will do very well here in 4A

I could definitely see this happening, however……I think, as many have said, to never, EVER underestimate Cedar Park. This time of the season is when they are at their strongest, and they may be coming into this after winning their 6th consecutive state championship. Ik CP is going to the SASR, Leander hasn’t been confirmed, but if both end up going we will get a good look as to who’s currently “stronger” in BOA, but I’m not putting any predictions out any time soon

Just saw the Austin Regional is the 2nd-3rd, which is my first weekend of spring break 🥳 Better more, I'll be home alone for this weekend, so I'll be able to watch on the big screen, yay! Will most likely cover all the groups again like last weekend, super excited to see some more amazing guards!

Super happy I was able to watch the last couple SW groups at Avon, and Fishers was definitely the big highlight for me. I grew up watching a lot of baseball and still do (My dad is a hard time Yankee fan being from NY so there's that), but they did such a great job brining the story of the olden days when it was just starting to life. Loved the jerseys for uniforms, and they are just SOOOO good for February, will probably be my favorite this year, can't wait to see how they do in Dayton

So it actually looks like they required to stay in 6A and won’t be moving down per the newest UIL realignment posts a few weeks ago

Just curious as to what your thoughts were on the Avon regional scores. Avon was very good, but an 86, idk. LOVE the show but Carmel felt like they wouldn’t be to far behind imo.

I want to talk about Avon, but I can't. It's a monster of a show that's gonna probably win it all. Oh and btw, their performers are some of the best in the nation, I'm just at a loss of words.

Little Elm-The Joke: THEIR FLAG WORK IS UNBELIVEABLE!!! Great dance section to start us off, followed by some great saber work. Really like the moving square, that's moving with every other member being a flag or rifle member. Great color choices, but wow these girls are SO GOOD, amazing job Little Elm Coppell- In Fantasia: Love this show so much! The big crystal prop helps add some nice glowing color to match the green uniforms. Some really lovely flag work throughout, really helped the uniforms pop. Saber and rifle work was also really good, although like Body earlier, had a big soloist drop some big tosses, which could open the way for Little Elm to pass them, but the big group stuff was WOW! GE is very high, and they are gonna do well the rest of this season, incredible job Coppell! Marcus- The arrow plane: Wow Marcus, just wow. Such an emotionally powerful story, with top tier performers. They are so clean, loved the entire show, just so magical what they do every year, they are gonna go far with this amazing show, awesome job Marcus!!
