WAIT IS THIS REAL?!?!?

This is already such a stacked lineup! Really happy they have this as a 12 finalist comp bc there are gonna be so many bands on the line of making finals. I’d say right now, here’s what I’m thinking (this is wayyyy to early but why not: 1st: Lone Star 2nd: Argyle/Lebanon Trail 3rd: LT/Argyle 4th: McKinney 5th: Frisco Independence 6th: Lovejoy 7th: Lake Highlands 8th: Lakeview Centennial 9th: Celina 10th: Frisco Memorial 11th: North Forney 12th: Anna/Rowlett these rankings are based off last season since we haven’t seen anything for the upcoming season, and I tried to base it off how these bands tend to do early season rather then late. I could very much see bands like Lovejoy anywhere from 5th-9th, they just tend to do well early and then fall of around area. Should be a really great finals to watch and somewhat of a early look at 5A area B

Thank you! I'd say scores seem about right, looking at the recap it looks like GE is what hurt Fisher but they are still moderately close to Carmel in the other categories, tied them in design analysis, and Avon with a 94.05!

Avon Carmel and Fishers were all amazing! Fishers and Carmel were much cleaner, and Avon just blew the roof off, holy crap! Does anyone know the record for SW, bc they really are looking to set a new one, un-freaking believable

This Northview is such a blast to watch!! Love this show so much, and god they are sooo good!

Kiski Area-WOW! Rifle work was just insane, both in difficulty and how clean it was! Such smart design choices using the rotating props to set up their soloist for some challenging tosses that they nailed! Flag work was also so good, big moments at the end where so tight, these SW groups are blowing my mind! Nothing but clean work from Bellbrook! Great job of conveying the theme throughout, love how they make different forms of circles to illustrate tires in the car-themed show. Plenty of variation of equipment work, super clean, loved everything about it! Carmel could possibly, Maybe be closer to Avon than I might think, bc other than a couple drops, that was flawless! I will admit, it does feel somewhat repetitive, and that the performance is to long at times, I think it's because there really aren't any changes in the pace, but the demand and execution is very high! Love the rifle work in this one a ton, super exposed, plenty of GE, will be interesting to see how they score, but that was fantastic!

HOLY COW Northview!! The amount of individual demand is off the charts, sooo many solo moments that they just killed the entire show! Dance-like theme is present throughout the entire show, LOVE the flag work, I mean wow wow wow, they are REALLY good, so much to love about this show, will be a crowd fav at Dayton for sure! So ummm I don't have much to say about Avon other than I don't understand how they are this good lol, SPEECHLESS! Freaking phenomenal, love it all, at this point I'm wondering not who's winning SW this year but if any other guard can get 1st from a judge over them, I mean holy cow! FISHERS!!! Still probably my favorite show of the year, just love the story and how they portray it so so much! Ending flag work with they blue-sky flags is just so freaking clean, rifle moments were also incredible, they're just so dang good, really excited to finish the season, gonna possibly be fighting for a medal once it's as clean as they can be!

It’s only the first world class guard and Norwin had people on their feet 30 seconds in!! Such a creative show, theme is present throughout and they are also an incredibly talented group, weapon work was incredible! Some great work from Miamisburg! Some dirt in the rifle work but flag and saber was great and so majestic! Lots of emotional expression through which really helps pull together the story, great stuff all around! Lovely show from CG! Small amounts of dirt but their rifle work is SO good! Again very expressive and emotional flag work, soloist were great!

I do have a good amount of work this weekend but I'' definitely be tunning in for the world class guards in the Mideast both days, may just have it on in the background throughout the day idk yet but I'll definitely be tuning in for the world class guards at Mideast, can't wait to see those Indiana guards, wondering what Avon is gonna score lol Wishing Tarpon was going to Southeast, would be nice to see how they score against the other SW guards on the same day, wonder why they aren't...

I hope not 😭 I love their show a ton and really want to be able to see them do so well in Dayton, do we have any confirmation about their plans yet?

Score wise, I'd say everything seems about right. Wylie with a big jump, super happy for them, and of course super close between Coppel A/Grand Oaks and Coppell/Marcus. Didn't really see Timber Creek dropping, if anything had them going up a little but they still improved score wise. Union/Hebron/Azle/Yukon being super close was also what I expected, but yeah overall great day of guard, very much looking forward to seeing how everyone improves between now and Dayton

All of the world class guards were spectacular! Flomo has improved a lot, still some cleaning needed but they look great, really lovely show. And the independent guards just blew my mind like always. Anyways, as we wait for results, congrats again to all the guards that competed this weekend, lots of groups are looking very strong, Tx should do very well in Dayton this season!

WOW Friendswood!! The amount of individual demand in this show is insane, so many exposed solo/duet moments that require each member to shine in the spotlight, and they do exactly that! It’s just like watching a clinic of rifle and flag work performed by some of the best, outstanding performance F-Wood! Killer show from James Bowie!! The opening flag work is just incredible, the theme is present throughout, love the big white curtain props they put the performers in. Soloist we’re on fire, just a fantastic run from JB! I can’t tell who’s taking the top spot between Marcus and Coppell. Both were SOOOOOO GOOD!! All will come down the judges, love the both equally so I can’t make a decision, Coppells show is more fast pace and adventurous while Marcus is beautiful and emotional, both offering some amazing equipment work, it’s gonna be tight in the top few in both groups, thought definitely more so in SA, Marcus and Coppell should still have a good gap between everyone else, but it’s been an amazing day so far, will be back for the worlds class guards.

Solid performance from Clear Brook! Tad amounts of dirt throughout, but otherwise a great run! I do at times feel like something is lacking having a second viewing, but other parts are just wow. Love the backdrops, flag work is so well together, and they’ve got a lot of potential to do great come end of the season, just needs a little bit more polishing, amazing job CB! By far the best run Timber Creek has had!! Almost no drops, flag work was tight, I mean I don’t really understand why they aren’t scoring higher. If anything is lacking it’s GE, but they’ve still got enough imo to do well, and the show from an equipment standpoint is very demanding and they are executing, so idk but either way a wonderful performance TC! Great run from McKinney! Some exposed rifle drops in the first half, but the rest was much better. Love they offer so many solo moments for the guard to show off and boy do they. Lovely flag work at the end, great storytelling throughout, awesome job McKinney!

Awesome performance from Jordon to kick off SO! I have absolutely no idea what the show’s about but idc, I love it! Flag work is so beautiful and I really love the gold spread throughout against the black and white in the tarp, rifle work pretty clean, great job Jordon! I’ve gotta say everyone is really stepping up the quality of their performances, and Cy-Fair is no exception! Love the tarp so much, helps add some nice story telling, that dance-work in the beginning is WOW, loved the rifle work in this show a ton, just great all around run, amazing job Cy-Fair! This Little Elm show is so mesmerizing! Such a powerful story that present so well, flag work was just incredible, so beautiful and powerful, love the middle section with the flag and rifle work mixed between going across the floor, just amazing work from Little Elm!

A much clearer run from Hebron, thought still a couple of exposed drops, I’m guessing it’s just nervous. They were however still absolutely incredible! Really love the ending flag work, the flame-orange looks so well against the colorless tarp. Soloist we’re much better today, and they were overall much better, amazing job Hebron Union, Holy Smokes!! They were not playing around today and you could absolutely tell. Another flawless run drop wise, flag work is so challenging yet they make it look easy, gosh it’s gonna be so tight between these too groups. Saber soloist is also insanely good, the all are, wonderful job Union! WOAH Grand Oaks!!! Another 0 drop run, super demanding and challenging show, yes and yes. They must have had a bad run yesterday bc that is gonna score much higher, mind was just blown off, amazing designed show, just wow, amazing job Grand Oaks! Yeah the SA winner could be anyone at this point, bc Coppell was as flawless as the past few guards were. Simply magical, such a powerful message they portray so professionally, soloist killed it, really love the flag work, I mean wow Coppell A, y’all killed it!!

What a show from Pebble Hills! Such an emotional production they convey so well, their male soloist was WOW, and the guard was just fantastic. Really enjoy the color palette, really big expressive flag work, and a cleaner run for sure, amazing job PH! Yeah Azle well definitely be moving up some lol, I counted 0 drops, light night and day between today and yesterday, WOW! Love this show a ton, super talented group of girls that just love what they are doing. If they have that type of run in Dayton they will do great, amazing job Azle! Amazing performance from our first of two OK bands here in finals from Yukon! Really powerful message they portray so well, tons of GE and really smart prop use. Rifle work was clean, very colorful flag work, love the ending so much, great job Yukon!

Okay, wow that Red Oak show is actually really good! I was worried a farm show wouldn’t do well with the judges simply bc it’s a less mature theme, but Ive learned now that doesn’t matter at all, and they showed why. Tons of GE, really great prop usage and they are also really good. Some very exposed rifle work, and tons of solo moments they nailed, great job Red Oak! Yeah this Emerson guard is going places, SO good! Much cleaner run than yesterday, soloist we’re on point, and I really love how much equipment diversity there is in this show. They definitely weren’t happy with their performance from yesterday, and you could see the difference. Just a greatly designed show they execute so well, amazing job Emerson! Great stuff from McNeil! Their front to back coordination needs some cleaning, but they were great otherwise. They do a great job of expressing the theme throughout, very nice flag work and just a really solid show all around, great work McNeil!

Well, it was another great day of WGI in the great state of Texas! Unfortunately, my WGI site is still down, hopefully fixed soon, but I can still say this much. One, big shoutouts to both of the Coppell Guards, what massive improvements both in scores and each performance. As mentioned already, the top SA groups seemed to have some struggles in prelims today, don't know if it's just a coincidence or nervous, but I'm expecting a lot of jumps score and possibly some change ups in placements depending on how much each guard cleans up. Just very uncharacteristic drops/dirtiness, not what I was expecting or hoping for, but I very much think these specific groups will step it up tomorrow, I leave my worries for some of the groups here going to Dayton until after results lol! Still some really great performances all around, congrats to everyone who competed today and our finalist, I will admit I did think SO would turn out a bit differently, I'm starting to understand very fast that my rankings and those of the judges are almost the complete opposite, but I'm still fairly new around here so that's to be expected. Big things I'm looking for tomorrow: Will Coppell take Marcus in SO, will we have some more two or 3-way ties in both classes, and how tight are the scores gonna be between the top 7 or so groups in SA. Hoping everyone rest up great tonight and have some much cleaner runs tomorrow, see ya'll then!

Cute show from Red Oak! Obviously, a farm show isn't the most intriguing thing in the world, but they do an amazing job to make it as interesting as possible. Some challenging equipment work throughout, really love the props/uniforms, really helps elevate the theme, just a very enjoyable show, great job Red Oak! Emerson has my heart. For a second-year school, WOW!! What are they feeding these kids are already this good! Such a great designed show that allows for these girls to maximize their potential, and that's exactly what they are doing. Tons of demand from each member and they are bringing the heat, just so so good, definitely will be up towards the top in SA today, and with a tad bit cleaner run, they could honestly medal tomorrow, amazing job Emerson! Great performance from Pebble Hills to close out the SA competition! Really emotional story which they portrayed extremely well, very big and expressive body work! Male soloists was wow, and they were really clean, some pretty tough rifle work they nailed, definitely made a case for finals, amazing job PH!
