  1. No idea how this is going to shake up, all up to the judges at this point.
  2. This show isn’t 100% clean yet, but that’s on purpose. We know Hebron always goes for it at grand nationals.
  3. It’s no wonder that took as long to clean as it did. Still a few rough spots musically for Keller but honestly it’s really coming together. They’re already looking really good.
  4. Was the Keller drum major wearing AirPods?
  5. There is no special accommodation needed to be made for wax because it was declared Wax did in fact meet the timing rules lol. I hate to say it, but the people repeating this narrative are making a really bad name for the CTJ program.
  6. That is the perfect draw for Marcus to take the gold. Only time will tell though.
  7. This idea about leniency is silly, considering with UIL’s own rules they kept out a likely 5A finalist in 2019 and then the very likely Area winner with Wakeland last year.
  8. Yes and it has happened in the past, you just don’t hear about it because those programs are under less scrutiny and this forum doesn’t put their every move under a microscope.
  9. Timing leniency has always existed for the state contest. Having watched state contests since 2015 there are more than 10~ or so bands I can remember “going over” but not being penalized. This applies 1A - 6A. UIL has always been stricter for region and area, for whatever their reasons may be. This is not a special circumstance granted to Waxahachie. It just represents the continued trend of leniency at the state contest. Don’t ask me why it’s like this, that’s just the trends and how it’s been.
  10. A bands effort is not devalued simply because you’re “tired” of seeing them in finals. They’re there for a reason. Fix your attitude.
  11. 2020, technically there wasn’t finals but the top twelve bands from prelims were considered the “finalists”. Bridgeland was 12th.
  12. We'll have people live-posting results as we receive them :). If I see nothings getting posted I'll do my best to hop to it.
  13. We have a packed block coming up. Hard to claim or say anything without seeing what they're putting up first.
  14. We also receive the schedule during the finals announcement. Unlike BOA, UIL doesn't announce finalists in random order but in performance order. This does make it so the more surprising finalists are announced first, and names like Vandegrift, Hebron and other top seven mainstays are announced in the back half.
  15. Missed Flower Mound :/. Will see how they're doing in finals.
  16. I am living for the coincidence of the Marcus and L.D. Bell resurgence.
  17. Bridgeland looked really great! Might just be me but that closer had some visible visual dirt, not sure. Music sounded strong though.
  18. I think it was a tear but it’s a very difficult piece and they did a very good job with it regardless.
