There’s no doubt they got here on merit alone. What a clean show. McNeil is here to play.

A bit lacking in ensemble moments from Cedar Ridge

Music was harsh as for any first time BOA super finalist (Pearland 2019) but I can honestly say that I don’t think they were the fifteenth band in.

Show is beautiful from CP but the visual is very uncharacteristically dirty. Percussion was rushing a bit too. It’s not the Cedar Park we saw last week and I’m a little disappointed.

And it’s any bands game any year. Keller is out for the first time since 2014. CTJ is out for the first time since 2009. Nobody is safe. You don’t get to San Antonio finals on accident.

Sorry to the Leander band I’m afraid I jinxed it.

I think Carroll has a pretty chance at being in, not really a dark-horse but a new pick. Cypress Woods if the judges reward some of that difficulty over the dirt in the program. I think Keller Central too. That’s about all three groups I have in for a surprise. McNeil as an outside shot but I wasn’t impressed with their visual program last night.

A little dirty at the end there but I think that could be Westlakes ticket for a second run tomorrow night.

I’m actually very interested to see if Hebron still takes music at SA with the domes clearer acoustics. That seems to be what set them ahead.

I will very happily eat my words about what I said about Leander earlier! Way to go and jump Wakeland! Of course congratulations to Cedar Park for their seventh UIL state title in a row! What a dynasty.

Wow I did not realize the state contest was yesterday and today! Feeling a lot of emotions but congratulations to all the performers and finalists!

It’s a program I’ve been waiting to really upswing. I think they have it in them.

I think Stevens is in finals here pretty safely.

I’m having trouble seeing Leander in national finals at all with this show to be honest. The GE ceiling is very low and it’s not difficult enough to stand out.

I mean even if they did make it it wouldn’t really be an upset. They’re one of like 10 bubble bands in the running.

RR is always a slow burn but I think we’re at a point in the season where I have them contending for second.

Way to go Del Valle and Akins with 1 ratings! That’s the first step to improvement.

Rouse was set to be 6A in a few years before some realignment shenanigans that I don’t know much about. Cedar Park is designed to stay perpetually 5A. Leander is always on the cusp but they’ve treaded closer to 5A in recent years.
